Chapter was ok... I would give it a 3/5. I still think we will get a surprise to this Tobito thing. I just can't see Obito being strong enough to fight Minato and almost winning, Or having MS when he fought him, or being able to survive the boulder to the face as a child. I think we will have a better explanation next week. Could be that Zetsu found him took him to Orochimaru and they experimented on his body and he became stronger. remember that Oro was in Akatski too maybe tobi is the reason he left them. He may have tried the same thing he did with Sasuke with Obito and it backfired and he became too strong for him to control. Or he is still planning on using his body now that Obito is stronger. Maybe.?!

he couldn't actually take on the 4th hokage and he knew that. thats why he took naruto hostage and put paper bombs on the blanket. either he thought the paper bombs would be enough to take him out or he thought they'd be enough to buy him some time to tear the 9 tails from kushina. remember i don't think it takes a lot of skill to break the seal at that point, the 9 tails almost came out on its own power because kushina was in labor. they even said that the seal almost completely broke when the first jinchuriki had a baby

Even at that time, Obito would have been around seventeen or eighteen, which I'm sure would more than make up for the height difference.

Then again it is possible. I mean Itachi mastered the sharingan at 8 and became a Jounin and captain of ANBU at 13. 16 year old Itachi with S/t jutsu may have been able to hang with Minato. Naruto was 16 when he fought Pain too.
Except that Obito was always a loser and never anywhere near as brilliant as Itachi was at that age.... :ghehe:

Pretty surprised that it is Obito, unless there is a decent explanation, there are far too many plot holes. I can see only three viable explanations for this.
1) Normally the Mangekyo is unlocked from the trauma of the loss of the person closest to you. However, given the nature of the trauma Obito was dealing with, what if, on the verge of death he unlocked his t/s abilities and sucked himself in to the other dimension. Perhaps time moves faster in this dimension; he meets Madara, trains, taught Madara's values, etc.
2) Madara finds Obito's broken body, uses Zetsu to help repair him, makes him his disciple, trains him... and the rest is history.
3) Orochimaru left the village at approximately the same time that Obito died. As we know, Danzo was quite the planner. Maybe the two of them more or less created Zetsu, and Franken-Obito for the sole purpose of eliminating the Uchiha as Madara. Without purpose, he leaves the village, meets Madara somehow... etc. There is plenty of connection between Danzo and Ororchimaru, and Kabuto knew who Tobi was immediately.... with the whole, oh you go by Madara now comment.
I don't know, just spit-balling here. I think some combination of option two and three are probably most likely, but either way Kishi has a lot of 'splaining to do.

everyone whos already proclaiming tobi being obito needs to calm down. didnt we assume itachi was evil when he confessed to sasuke that he let his brother live to steal his eye and get the ems? and then what happened a few chapters after that? it was finally revealed for what it really was. so for as of right now, with it JUST being "confirmed" that tobi=obito, lets just give it a little more time to develop before we make up our minds

If we look at Naruto and Sasuke.. if not impossible that a 16 year old brat could take on the 4th Hokage, the best shinobi of his era. But still his purposes and Obito's personality do not match!
Obito is the same like Naruto, wanted to be Hokage a denied love, etc. But please... tobi did a lot of things that r impossible for a guy like Obito to accomplish!

Becuz Naruto is 15-16 now and Obito and Kakashi were 13 when the Kakashi Gaiden was taking place. Since Kakashi is now 29-30 it means Tobi attacked Konoha 1-2 years later when Kakashi was 14-15.
Yes it gives little time for Tobi to train but I think he was trained by Madara in two years and yes Madara probably died during Tobi's training. Sasuke and Naruto trained with their mentors for two years also but Sasuke's turned out better.
But only Kabuto knows what happen to Madara after the Valley of the End. We don't know if Madara ever died against Hashirama. There is still a lot not known about Black Zetsu.
My theory involves Madara, Black Zetsu, and Hashirama's cells. There's still a lot to learn since B. Zetsu and Madara are alive.
