Re: Stages of Tobi's Dimensions

I believe when kakashi kamui'd the rasengan, it stays where it was absorbed. Tobi was flying at naruto, leaving forward with his left arm. Naturally this twists your body, more specifically, your right shoulder goes behind you. I think when tobis right arm transversed the area where rasengan was, it detonated.

Couldn't be, because narutos hand went through his head

The main confusing thing is why we can see Tobi in what you call 'Dimension A', while he goes intangible. He shouldn't be able to exsist visually in both dimensions at a single time.

Yeah, that hasn't been well explained.

If I had to speculate, I would say it's that when he's intangible, but still visible, it's a way for him to quickly switch between dimensions in a less permanent way. That is, he can jump back and forth a lot quicker than when he fully disappears.

Nice job man but for the last point I think they've got tobi on the ropes because even if he wanted to transport himself to another location it takes time and gai is too quick to let that happen so this is more terrifying than konan's jutsu for tobi. xd +REP

For your last point. I think that Tobi can control where his body or things he absorbs are in the alternate dimension when the swirling animation is present. This makes since because when he teleports the swirling is present. So while just partially transporting himself into dimension B (intangibility), his body will be relative to the dimension A location with him not having any control over it.

Overall good analysis. +rep Edit: nevermind I have to spread some rep around. I swear it has been a while since I last repped you though XD

@Q I think Ur Partial Body theory is quite correct :)
@Panda nice Explanation dude ;)

nice analysis. I really hope kishi thought this through and not just for epic action. i have a feeling that this space time and parallel dimensions crap can get confusing as shit.

I'm tired of listening to these theories and trying to comprehend these jutsus. In the end... we would all still get mind-fcuk in someway.:shrug:

  1. STM (and Kamui) warp to an alternate dimension in spatial relation to the real world.
  2. When using STM, Tobi has a physical presence in the alternate dimension.
  3. The alternate dimension does not have an exact parallel structure to the real world, in contradiction to what is expected.
  4. Objects and people located in the alternate dimension do not necessarily remain in the same location with respect to where they were originally stored. Tobi has control over where objects are stored and transported.
    [*]Future "Kamui warped attacks" as featured in chapter 596 will no longer work as Tobi can warp to an different, unpredictable location within the alternate dimension. This means Kakashi can no longer warp attacks to the location of Tobi's physical body.

Very interesting. However, I just wanted to point out that because of Tobi's STJ and because of known laws of physics (which I'm sure is how Naruto functions) we know that the 3 spatial directions merge with a temporal direction which gives us space-time. Not only does that mean that objects can be anywhere in 3D space, but that also time is but a location and can be reached spatially and is located throughout "space". This means that Kakashi doesn't even have to locate the attack "physically" to Tobi, but rather can just send the attack to a future "temporal" state and it will physically attack him due to time and space being inextricably linked. However, the mechanics behind that is quite a challenge haha
