this. 100% this. kakashi is smart and people give itachi a lot of shit for some of his plans "failing" but we havent seen that many plans of kakashi's. itachi figures shit out within seconds. even techs that seemingly have "no weaknesses". raped celestial and edo tensai easily

Yeah, as people already noted, Kakashi hasn't shown being more intelligent than Itachi just yet. I mean, he barely learned half of what his jutsu can do now, after seeing it from Tobi. He is, after all, called the Copy ninja (don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on him). I grant that he invented (I think?) raikiri at a young age. But I'm really interested in how Itachi got his hands on the shield and sword his Susano'o used.

now i know im gonna get bashed for this but i think after this week's chapter that kakashis intelligence is now on itachi's level or even above. now i compare kakashi to itachi because on nb hes the golden standard of intelligence

I always felt that Kakashi was very intelligent but I still feel that Itachi is on a completely different level being he's younger that Kakashi as well. Even Kakashi praised the prodigy that Itachi is.

don't get me wrong....kakashi is a great strategist..........but nothing compared to the level of itachi......itachi is nothing but a pure genius.

out of all the legandary ninja that were ressurected by kabuto,he was the only one who was able to break free from his control.that tells the whole story about itachi. :shrug:

in my book,every one of his plans were damn successful!........the only one that went wrong was in sasuke's case.....well,it's not his fault that his brother is a weak-minded fool and psychopath who gets easily influenced by others.

and with the edo's,he got rid of each and every edo except madara uchiha.

it's not itachi's fault that madara knew the seals for edo tensei.if somebody like oonoki who's lived a long life and seen madara uchiaha in person did not know that he knew the seals for edo tensei....then....how the hell could itachi know?:shrug:

as for kakashi,he just figured out these things because he could observe long enough while naruto and bee battled their ass out against tobi.U_U

These type of who is the smartest threads are nothing more than opinionated. Anyway both are very smart and to some people they are equal in intelligence. To others one is slightly smarter. Will however go with itachi because although kakashi has gotten more screen time, itachi has still shown more intelligence.

Also in the first databook when kakashi was 26, his intelligence in the DB was a 4.5/5, he later got a 5/5 in his late 20's.

Itachi at 17 got a 5/5 for intelligence

The only reason he was able to break free from that edo was because of another uchiha ability's .. You say "itachi is nothing but a pure genius" explain ? Itachi is who he is because of his sharingan... Everything else that he has done doesn't make him much of a genius.

What has he done, He planed a life for sasuke by making him seek revenge after being ordered to kill his clan? he was able to stop kabuto because of his sharingan. Itachi was known as a genius because of his power from the sharingan.. That's why it's said " there born as a genius ". True the sharingan is part of him but what has he done that is that special in order of intelligence ? The end of it is he couldn't stop tobi and failed with sasuke as he already said himself!
