Couldnt Madara and Izuna just simply switch theire eyes??

Hi im new here and I just wonder if Madara and Izuna couldnt simply switch theire eyes ore Izuna could implanted Madaras blind eyes to awaken his own EMS?? Or would they stayed blind then? Sorry for my bad englisch i just wondered about that

Do the 2 MS sets merge together, creating a set of EMS eyes?
Or does the blind brother pull out his own eyes, implant the eyes of his brother and awakens the EMS with mixing his DNA with the one of the eye?

These are assumptions.
I don't think it clearly stated how EMS is formed. Maybe it said "implanted" once or twice but that isn't real proof.

I think Kakashi- did it due to some kind of emotional shock ore just sadness idk.. it has never been stated that or how a non Uchiha can activate the MS soo as long as Kishi doestn give us any hints ore sth we can just tap in the dark
