Minato did more for the village than Itachi

naah, the uchiha clan at that time were weaklings. even if they attacked konoha. a lot of ninja in konoha will destroy them.

You don't get it, you don't get one bit of it... Internal warfare by the uchiha would have caused another world ninja war... But this time , Konoha would have two enemies.. The village would surely have been destroyed...

The last ninja war started only because sasori killed the third kazekage... The strongest village having a war with itself? would surely upset the entire balance... Knowing kumugakure they would attack... more would attack.. and more.. thousands would die.. And naruto was a child, too young to protect himself.. ,Akatsuki , tobi, or any village would have gotten their hands on the kyuubi..

The entire plot would have changed if the uchiha coup detat happened

Thanks to Owarij for answering before I could, Uchiha clan weren't weaklings, the Coup would have destroyed Konoha.

Ok well, I've made my opinions of Itachi public and some of the responses motivated me to start this article:

Summing up I don't believe he is a hero. Yes he did stop edo which makes him a good guy, but while he was alive and even during edo many of his feats I feel are to protect his brother and not the world or the leaf. Not a hero, a good brother.

Minato on the other hand saved the leaf by sacrificing himself, wife and even sealing a demon fox into naruto. He was a major force in the shinobi war and had enough forsight to seal a bit of himself and Kushina inside naruto. Which helped him in the pein fight and controlling the kyuubi's chakra. Minato effectively saved the village twice. His sperm also became all powerful and gave birth to naruto. That is a hero and Minato did alot more for the leaf and the world than Itachi.

And remember just because Itachi has had a tragic life doesn't make him a hero.

If it werent for Itachi , minato's sperm woulda died. Heres how it would have happend, Itachi and uchiha's weakened konoha almost winning, putting a good fight but losing in the end. Other countrys saw an opening and went in for the easy kill. After a genicide, guess who becomes on their bounty list number one? Minato's sperm. They take the fox and Minato and Kushina would have died in vein.

You say Minato left Naruto . Itachi left Sasuke. So far Sasuke's 1-0 soo They mirror each other. Itachi did more for the village, Not to mention he stopped the Edo, which Minato couldnt do. So props to Itachi, he saved konoha TWICE from a WAR destroying Konoha.

Should we take edo itachi's action's in to account?, i think your action only matter when you do them in your life, give minato a 2nd chance via Edo tensei and he will do the same.

Itachi:
1. Saved Konoha and the Shinobi World from the the possibility of another World War.
2. Stopped Edo tensei Menace.

Minato:
1. Was insturmental in Leaf's survival in the Third Shinobi War. See Kakashi Gaiden for example.
2. Saved Konoha from destruction from attack by Kurama. If Konoha was destoyed the, the millitary power of Land of Fire wld have been nearly gone and other countries would have invaded land of fire anyway and there might have been another War.
3. If minato didnt seal kurama in Naruto, Fourth Shinobi War would have been a bigger disaster than it already is.

Both are Martyrs and dont sully their memories by childish compa

I don't hate itachi...... I said he's a good guy, I just think he's not a hero and that his feats are exaggerated ok. Why is everyone so passionate in their verbal abuse, I understand you feel for a character but seriously. The reason I didn't go all lovey dovey on Itachi is because I was trying to argue a point:

What I think of itachi: An amzing shinobi with unmatched strength, who has endured much more than many shinobi can imagine. Itachi is a great shinobi who cares for his brother, the world and the village. He is not a hero, though. Reasons are given in my first thread

Itachi did stop edo, But rly madarra was the only big threat when he did, Most of the other edos were subdued. I don't think he's a hero for that.

Well minato was a kage and it is his job to protect the village but that doesn't mean when he sacrafices himself to do it, he's not a hero. Itachi would have capurted naruto when he was young if he had the chance and it was naruto with minato's help that saved konoha.
