yeah, past fights like Orochimaru vs Kiruzen or the Sannin showdown look embarrasing compared to what's happening in the manga today, I think Kishi hyped up his characters too much in part 2 and made them far too powerful compared to part 1. Orochimaru was supposed to be one of the most dangerous men on the planet, EVERYONE feared him. when part 2 came along, there's a ton of people that could WIPE the floor with him.

Kishi's measurment of part1 and part 2 are very different anyway. Hiruzen took on Hashirama, Tobirama and Orochimaru in his old age, yet Kishi boosts about how Hashirama was comparable to the So6P??? Well if that's true Kishi, why the hell did Hiruzen even last like 2 seconds against him back during the Chuunin exams???

exactly and this is also another reason y people really over rate hiruzen, not hating on him or nothing i think he is awesome but the power differences in both parts are to different to compare

Am I the only one who, by now, only reads the manga because it would be too bad to quit after going through all of it?

And for this precise reason : all the great characters have died. Most of the shinobi left alive for the war are boring, except for a few.

I mean ok, Madara + Tobi, Naruto, Kabuto and the Kages, they may have cool jutsu. But what do they fight for, besides "peace" and "world domination"?

Jiraya, Itachi, Nagato, Konan, the Akatsuki, Orochimaru, Hiruzen, and who else.. most of which died because the plot required them to. They had their individual beliefs and were much less generic than the remaining ones.

We all know that Madara and Tobi will be done by a main-character no jutsu even though they're completely overpowered by now. And we also all know the plot between Naruto and Sasuke will end exactly like Goku and Vegeta in Dragonball Z. This isn't Sasuke Shippuden.

I agree with you. +rep. I feel almost the same and only follow this manga to see who is Tobi. Maybe i'll stop the manga after that cuz it's not even funny right now. I prefer part1 really. It's beyond the concept i thought it should be at the end

I love the plot of Naruto, but imo the entire ninja war has felt so rushed that it's kind of boring. The fights recently have been to quick and pointless. It just now started to pick up again for me with the Madara fight and the Kabuto fight. Sucks for me though, cause i kind of hate Madara xD I just hope they finish with Madara soon so we can get back to Tobi. I am curious to see what they'll do with Kabuto though, and i really wana know about that scroll Jugo and Suigetsu found

Naruto is a story with a lot of depth and if someone can't see or appreciate it then it's too bad for them. Go beyond the surface and dig deeper and if you still don't like it, don't watch/read it just cuz "it'd be too bad." I used to like Bleach, but when it started sucking for me i just quit reading it and i'd been reading it since chapter 1. Also, people think it's going to end way sooner than it is going to. I know that the end is nearing, but there are still many unanswered questions and the manga will still be going for a while--but it is on its downhill slope and heading towards the end but I completely disagree with things like "all the great characters are dead" or that Naruto's becoming too "DBZ-like," to me that's just crap.

I feel like Part 1 was Naruto's prime in term of plot development (not necessarily the over all plot, really just the way it was executed for me). Too many characters were forgotten or not given proper time, which is what Naruto is commonly criticized for. Although I still like current Naruto; some characters like Madara, Tobi, Naruto, etc. keep me going.

^I agree with you on the most part, for example the war...its EPIC, but could of been better...no kakashi rampage, 7 swordsmen fight (i mean look how long it took to get them down to 3 ...as expected they were UBER, OP and unimaginably powerful.
And remember since there dead and BEING CONTROLLED, there weaker than they were if they were alive....obviously.) But i still think more than just Madara, tobi and Naruto still keep it going.

Segments like kabutos flashback actually were interesting.

This is so commonly used and just incredibly dumb. Just because it's free doesn't mean you can't feel disappointment when a series that you love drops in quality? What the hell has money got to do with it?
I don't think it's ruined. I think it's still great but I agree with the ninja feeling having faded. I liked the smart, less bombastic battles the most

Also whoever thinks this series will end with a draw between Naruto and Sasuke... please stop being so naïve. Look at what happened between Madara and Hashirama. History is repeating itself, is this not enough proof alone?

I could care less how the plot goes it's not my manga. Naruto could die and not save sasuke or be hokage and I wouldn't care(as long as he doesn't get killed by sasuke.) Naruto could get killed by anyone else as long as it's not sasuke. I don't really like sasuke so I wouldn't really like that but I wouln't bash kisi for it.

my point exactly! i never said it wasnt good but i just feel it was better when the ninja theme was there when anyone could pretty much beat anyone with a good strategy instead of my power level is above urs so therefore i win kinda thing

No, but apparently they can be immortal if their death would mess up the plot.

And they are sent to die as soon as they've done what they had to do, if their death is tragic enough to bring a meaning to the series.

Just like Jiraya going on a suicide mission as soon as Naruto is trained enough to go on his own...

It's kind of like in Skyrim where every NPC that is required for the plot is marked as "essential" and can't die no matter what you throw at him, so that it doesn't mess up the game.

In Naruto, the Konoha 11 + Sasuke are basically the essentials..

Ninjas don't control sand and ninjas don't have magical eyes. This stuff has been happening since part one of naruto.

hmmm as that may be its not the point im trying to make... not sure about others but atleast it took skills and strategy to defeat there opponent there were ninja like aspects to part 1 naruto series which alot of people enjoyed and watched/read it for ... again part 2 is still good just i feel it was let down a bit by going bit over the top
