I'm posting this because I'm personally of getting tired of people relating Byakugan to the Sharigan. This all started with Kakashi's BS statement that the Sharigan derived from Byakugan. Which is later proven false because the sage passed down his powers directly to the Uchiha Clan ancestor.
Now that when people learned this a rumor started going around that Byakugan is a mutation of the Sharigan. This actually has no proof that it actually is or is not a mutation of the Sharigan.
However, Kishi has not once made a connection between the Rikudo, Hyuugas and Byakugan. Tobi who seems to know all about the history of the Sage doesn't even comment on a byakugan user. (Hinata)
Even in the Databooks he does not relate the Byakugan to the Rikudo or Sharigan at all.
The Rikudo was the founder of ninjutsu not dojutsu. The Rikudo didn't create people or the things in it. It's safe to assume their were things in his time that were not connected to him. That Byakugan was never part of his powers to begin with.
