Why didnt Nagato just bring Yahiko back to life?

I was always wondering. If he brought back the whole village why didn't he just bring Yahiko back to life. I thought maybe it was because he just had gedo mazo pierce his back and wouldnt have enough chakara, but he didn't seem as fatigued when he fought naruto and when he fought naruto he was still able to bring back the entire village. So it should have been possible. Any thoughts lol or did Kishi just not make him revive Yahiko for the story?

I think there might be a short time spam from the moment of death to being revived, like when reviving konoha it was only a few hours, but with yahiko he probably couldnt recover his chakara in time..

He didn't bring him back when he immediately died because he most likely didn't know about Rinne Tensei until he hit his 20s. and he didn't bring him back after learning Rinne Tensei because of how long he's been deceased.

Yea i guess that's the only thing that makes sense. He must of felt real bad when he did learn that jutsu though, knowing if he knew it earlier he could have revived his friend lol
