5 common, sexist stereotypes about women

Here are some pretty facepalmable sy stereotypes about women

1. All women are the same: Lmfao! The response to that is NO they are not. If anything, women have the most individualism out of the entire human race. I have yet to meet (RL or the internet) a woman who is the exact same as another. I have NEVER seen it or witnessed it.

2.Every time a woman is very very close to a male she likes him in a romantic way: NOT TRUE. This is one of the most common sexist stereotypes about women. Every time a woman is very good freinds with a male she automatically likes him.

3.Every time a woman is angry she is on her period: :sy: I hope you guys know how angry women get when they here this. Im a guy (a straight one) and even I think this is annoying. Trust me, every time a woman is angry she isnt on her period. They should be able to express their emotions freely w/o being told this.

4.Every time a woman brings up sexism, she is a feminist: Not true at all. That would be like saying everytime someone brings up racism that they are racist, or suffer from inferiority complex. The thing is, is that sexism in todays society & social norm sexism isnt taken as serious as racism, cultural stereotypes, etc.

5. Women are wimps: Lol, I always hear stereotypes about women being just completely weak. "oh I broke a nail" or "oh this is too heavy, can you help me carry it?" All women arent like this. Women are very independent creatures, and they like to show that as well. All women arent like the high mantience brats that the media portrays them as.

So yeah, thats just my list but If you guys know anymore common stereotypes about women that you know are incorrect, then feel free to bring them up. Other wise, I have made my point U_U

But you're one of the few who isn't sexist towards women.
I don't know any other stereotype at the moment, but the ones you picked out are the most common ones I think

Yeah I know there have been alot of sexism threads lately, but sexism topics arent really taken as serious as other topics (cultural, racial, etc) :shrug: And yeah these some of the most commmon sexist stereotypes. How much do these stereotypes annoy you?

They are probably not taken seriously, because it's mostly guys posting in them and they like to joke about it (no offense meant to you)
To be honest: those stereotypes can really annoy the hell out of me. We live in 2012 but if you have to go by by some posts, you'd expect we're still living in the Middle Ages. The problem is that most of the time, you just can't argue with those people. Even if you come up with facts that no one can ignore, they will just laugh at you *sighs* I mostly try to ignore such threads, but for some reason I never can resist the urge to post my opinion of their posts in those threads ^^;

Yeah I understand. And yeah I think you should post your opinion In those threads, thats what I would do. The sad part is I dont think sexist threads arent going to change the minds of those on here who are sexist or have sexist ways of thinking. :shrug:

Sadly no. Some people just refuse to accept the truth or that there are other opinions, besides theirs, I suspect. It's sad but true.
The only way you can deal with them, is to use logic I guess.

Women cannot drive. Whenever they do they merge 3 lanes at once, slam on brakes, and do everything in their power to make everyone's life hell.

Wha.... they were suppose to prove women cannot drive.... Well at least men can park on all four wheels even if they die in the process :noc:

Actually, in my country they did a test, spread out over months, to see who's actually the better driver. Women and men both had to drive and had to park their car perfectly.
At the end of the test, who do you think was the better driver and was better in parking their car?
Women.
And I'm not bullshitting you, the man announcing the result wasn't happy with it LOL

There is a very simple reason for this. There are a lot of men that like showing off their driving skills to try to impress women. They fail more often than not :shrug:. Women don't show off their driving skills to attract men.

Yeah its scientifically proven women are better drivers.... but its still fun to make fun of them XD

Honestly. The last one is true for my gf. I like it when she needs my help, or when I carry stuff for her, fixing up her future car and stuff. She always seems so interested when I do something for her that she's to "weak" to do and she makes me food or asks me to teach her. She's extremely smart, a lot smarter than I am in certain subjects but she does lack the brawns, and I do the stuff she can't do. She is equal to me though, I know she is.

Meh, I wouldn't be impressed if a man showed their driving skills *shrugs* But then again, I got to hear from someone in my university group that I can't be impressed anymore, so maybe it's just me LOL

Well, you my friend, said something nice.
I think that these are just stereotypes which we're guiding ourselves with just because some of us can't think other way than just like that. Dunno if u get what I'm trying to say. The thing is that for some, it's easier to eat a cooked meal than cook it themselves, if u get what I mean.

Regarding the driving, yes, there are a lot that God, they should be forbidden, but there are some, that can even smoke a man at driving.
I'm proud of my mom, for example.
I said that when I get my driver's license, I better drive like my mom, if not, I won't drive at all, lol.
