i think hes the 2nd hokage becuase there was no confirmed death he apointed a new hokage before he died so he could be alive we know he used space time ninjutsu minat said so himself when he was hit by minato his left arm melted into liquid and i know the edo tensei vs the 3rd but what if he thought about it and had zetsu create a clone of himself im the coffin + he would know where to get harashimas cells since they were brothers and in addition he could have the eyes of Kagami Uchiha he is not mentioned mutch and the obvious tobi = tobimara thing i definetly belive this theroy becuase there no way that the 2nd could fdall prey to 20 or so sh*t ninja.

2. Its a nice theory, but a bit farfetched. He could have simply turned intangible, transported it away or used his left eye for Izanagi, then replaced with one of those dozens of eyes.

Yeah, I'm not saying that I know how he does this 2 body thing or how he escaped the Amaterasu, all I'm saying is he's always saying stuff like "I did this...but I also did that" and always claiming to be Madara and speaking as if he IS Madara but then it makes no sense that he IS Madara since Madara would be 100 + years old. I actually think it would be funny if when Kishimoto finally reveals Tobi's identity as Madara and everyone's like "REEEEAAALLLLY?"
And Kishimoto is like "He said it arr arong!! Did you think he was rying!!?"

So in light of perhaps obsessively trying to figure out who Tobi is, I think I may have discovered a secret about him rather than actually figuring out who he is. It hit me when I was simply observing some scenes he was in...
Tobi, the man behind the mask is more than one person. In other words, I believe he is 2 seperate people at once.
How did I come to this conclusion? Well, if you watch the scene where Sasukes eye activated Itachis Amaterasu on Tobis right shoulder he cries out in pain and dances around in a panic before he falls into the shadows and comes back out seconds later seemingly unharmed. You think oh he just did his space time eye technique and escaped the flames somehow and then comes walking back out. But if you observe closely you can see that when he walks back out into the candlelight his outfit is slightly changed and his body seems to have become more aged and droopy (and even appears to be slightly shorter). And he automatically says "Not even Itachi knew everything about me. Otherwise I'd be dead" as if to imply he had more than one body to kill. Then if you fast forward to the episode where Sasuke is having his emo hissy fit fighting against the Raikage Tobi pays a visit to Naruto, Yamato and Kakashi and when Kakashi asks him what his goal is he says it's to "become a complete being".

Now, WHO Tobi is is a completely different mystery. As for now I think I may have unlocked atleast another aspect of his being

Your theory makes sense though maybe the last part about him wanting to be a complete being is maybe about collecting all the bijuus to create the Tentails? That's just a suggestion that could be possible too but I like your theory Well thought out, +rep

Just wondering what does Tobi collecting tailed beast have to do with HIM becoming a complete being?

Lets get started

Its already known that madara died - correct but the actions before his death are very shady ... tobi claime to be madara obviously to bring about fear into his emenies etc... tobi one thing must also be took in consideration .... this tobi character must have known madara on a personal level that madara would have trusted him with his goals and rinnegan

Now on to my points :

1) What if madara's younger brother is tobi revived through rinnegan and through his bond with his brothers shares the pain and hurt that madara went through and now is finishing the plans and getting revenge

2) Madara referred to him as nagato ... this maybe a long shot but what if sasuke father is madara's grand child and was given this as an objective hence , His disappearance on the night when kurama attacked ... My theory is that he killed his wife to obtain the mangekou sharrigan and then since it was a new found power wasn't fully prepared to fight minato thus he was forced back ( lets discuss this one )
3) Tobi has to be someone already mention in the show , i dont think Kishi will go through the trouble of introducing anybody else who plays such a big roll right now ..... and this is just a guess but i think tobi knows the riencarnation jutsu or has hashirama's cells implanted into his body

But i willl continue my thoery in responses tell me what do you think?

one of the biggest antagonists of the series, nagato, was a character that kishi created in the middle of the series. he wasnt someone we had known prior to his fight with j-man. tobi is just tobi man deal with it until kishi tells us its someone else
