I somewhat agree too.
Itachi is a cool character, don't get me wrong, but he did kinda fail with the Uchiha massacre.

Being a genius, you'd think that Itachi would have found another way to stop make peace rather than just to kill everyone. It's almost as if Itachi was being manipulated and forced to do so by the Konoha elders. Surely, couldn't they just divide power and negotiate until both parties were happy?
Plus, he ended up screwing his little brother over, as well as any chances of his clan's survival. Yes, Sasuke has become stronger because of the massacre, but he's gone mentally insane too.

Nonetheless, Itachi had the right honorable aims of peace, but the way of achieving this was not the best option.

I respect you're opinion but...

1. Couldn't all the countries in the world do that.... couldn't the USA or Israel negotiate with Iraq or Palestine, this ninja world completely resembles how it is in the real world.

2. We never said it was the best, But we do know and we all agree that It was necessary, and THE ONLY thing to do at that time, also he was 13 Years old, can a 13 years old kid convince Older people to do what he think is right, can a kid convince Obama to make peace with Afghanistan?

Idk, Naruto has convinced many a people to do things at 13. But as I said before, Itachi did not have Naruto's experience to do the things Naruto does.

This is where itachi failed MISERABLY, he was merely a tool for Danzo. If it was naruto or even minato, I bet they would have found a peaceful solution.

Good post, but I hope you realize the itachi fans/sasuke haters are going to carpet bomb your rep bar. In any case I agree completely. If it was narutos clan they'd be calling for itachis execution. But since sasuke is an uchiha then it's a good thing. That's basically how it works with these people. Gaara was part of an attack that got the third hokage killed. But you don't see anyone saying he should be executed right? Now, do you see the difference? The uchiha supposedly MIGHT have started a war. Gaara and his fake puppet master brother and windy city sister ACTUALLY GOT THE HOKAGE KILLED. So why no threads on how they are criminals and should die? Oh that's right they aren't uchiha so I guess it's okay. Anyways excellent post and the plus reps in the mail.

Zabuza already stated. Itachi, Nagato, Konan, Tsunade, Jiraiya, Kakashi, 4th Raikage - all of them acknowledged him as a hero/saviour/etc. Those are off the top of my head.

I'll give you Tsunade. The rest already had their beliefs. Itachi has jsut been saving his butt and leaving sasuke to him, Konan followed anything nagato did, jiraiya already had the belief of never giving up and peace is awesome rah rah rah, kakashi the same, raikage he failed with and gaara really was the one who did the change of heart for the kages.

Konan was changed because she followed Nagato and Nagato decided to follow Naruto

Tsunade was changed with help of Shizune and Jiraiya ,Orochimaru and Kabuto had a huge part in it too.... in a way

Pay attention to the manga.......If he had refused, then the elders would have assigned the mission to the ANBU black ops. They would've killed everyone including sasuke, that's why Itachi decided to do it himself.
