Ah, this one.. Well, my opinion is: He overreacts. She's a teenager(if not biologically, then in mind at least), rebellious and all. They'll say many stupid things, things you're supposed to take lightly since they're being guided by the insecurity in these years. It kinda saddens me that they seem to be more like enemies rather than father/daughter.
He seems to be comparing her situation to his own(when he was young), that's kinda unfair/unjust since things ARE different now, norms, relations to technology etc.
Sure, she says some pretty mean things, but as I said in a similar thread; he should've just sold that laptop, shooting it is wasting resources and technology.

That's not true, well, about the laptop. Shooting it instead of leaving it for some kind of recycling at least, is stupid. It's a waste, and someone who doesn't even care for recycling, is not deserving of any pop-tarts!

That said, he seems to have a bit of a temper problem but I can't really judge cause I don't know the whole story.

He should have taught his daughter a lesson and he did that. But maybe he could have done something which was only productive and less destructive.
