Sleep paralysis. Do any of you suffer from it?
Just curious.

It might just have happened me once, not sure if it was really that though. Might just be that I'm narcoleptic.

What do you mean by paralysis?
Sometimes I wake up and I can't lift my arm for a while. It's scary o.o

After a while, it's okay. I think it's due to the blood flow.
Meh, as long as I get a good night's sleep D:

No, I've read about it, apparently you become aware during REM, spanning from a few seconds to hours in rare cases. You will, as you suggested, experience slight panic, although in my case it was fake panic, as I induced it consciously.

Haha what Uchia Brat said haha.
But it usually involves your whole body. Quote a terrifying experience.

Man narcolepsy? How do you deal with that?

It's not a very serious case, it's just annoying, but I try dealing with it by eating right and go to bed early, no matter how little I can sleep.

@99: Go wiki, it'll explain better 8D

Sleep Paralysis is when the brain wakes up but the body is still in sleep mode.

You wake up & become aware of your surroundings but you can't move or speak. It is common for most to experience this, though some might not remember or think they had it but thought it was a dream.

If you have halluncinations when this occurs & feels like your chest is being compressed & have trouble breathing, this what they call "demons". & no, this has nothing to do with actual demons or whatever.

I'm 26 & I have had these since as long as I can remember. I get them once or twice a week, & the "demons" occur every few months. I'm use to it. But if you're experiencing them frequently & not liking it, you can see a doctor. They'll do some sleep tests & whatnot.

It is just a dream.

There are times when I am having a nightmare & I am trying to wake up & I do, but then I realise I am still in the dream. So it is like I was having a dream within a dream.

I used to have it. It always scared the shit out of me. Waking up with your body unable to move while trying to yell for someone to wake you up while no sound comes out. At times I was able to move a little, very little tho.

Don't think i've experienced this.

However, I have been waking up, getting up and then passing out. Left a scar or two.

ive had them a few times all of the times i had them i was sleeping on a couch or the futon(minus the times i fell asleep with my baby cousin). and when i sleep i always face the wall on my bed or the back of the couch. and that scares the shit out of when i cant roll over and get up.
