I think Tobi may be Kakashi's childhood friend Obito...it makes sense with his power to go through things (he could have done it to escape the rock that squashed obito) and he has only had 1 sharingan eye (because Kakashi has the other one) it makes sense to me, but I dont know what could have happened to make him evil :/

this has been stated a million times it cant be obito cause when hes fighting konan she cracks the upper part of the mask it revealed he had two sharingans and plus his face looks old as heck

Naw too many if's. Although it would make sense in a way because his right eye would be transplanted therefore never deactivated and we've only seen the right side of his face, which was crushed by the rock. Maybe he had some medical ninjutsu done on it and that's why the right side of his face looks older. Or maybe it's not him... Prolly

There are many things in what you say that make sort of sense.

1: Kakashi has the left,Tobi has the right eye.
2: Kakashi Kamui sends people into another dimention, Tobi can send people and himself into other dimentions.(Kakashi uses MS for this though,Tobi doesn't)
3: Kakashi tried to Kamui Tobi and Tobi said it wouldn't work on him. Why?
4: Tobi & Obito both have the exact same letters in the name. Obito of course has 2 O's but still.
5: Tobi has said things which suggest he knows Kakashi and also tends to comment on his eye/ocular skills.

The issue I have is why would Obito want to cause pain to anyone?
He was a good Shinobi.
That said, it is possible that Madara found him.

Obito sounds like Tobi in piglaten or something, and yeah, he seemed like a good kid, but didnt tobi say something about personaly knowing Madara, you could be right he could have made him a bad guy

Tobi has a huge store of eyes...of course he can have both sharingan again.
The point is that he keeps his right eye intact at all times.
It's the left eye that shuts,showing some attachment to that right eye.
