I was wondering, out of all the talking that was done in Naruto, in between fights or not, which was your favorite speech?

My personal favorite was Gaara's speech to the Allied Forces. Very powerful. If I was a Shinobi, I'd be feeling like Rocky Balboa after hearing that.

What about you guys?

"I've had enough, there's no hope left for this pathetic clan
The people of this clan are all the same. You focus on the trivial, and lose sight of what's most important. Change is impossible, in this fog of ignorance. How can we evolve when regulation is all we know?"

"You hold onto the organisation and your clan name. These things limit us and limit our capacities… These things deserve to be shunned. It is foolish to fear what we've yet to see and know!"

"Those who turn their hands against their comrades are sure to die a terrible death."

We are humans, not fish. We don't know what kind of people we truly are until the moment before our deaths. As death comes to embrace you, you will realise what you are. That's what death is, don't you think?"

"People live their lives bound by what they accept as correct and true. That's how they define "reality". But what does it mean to be "correct" or "true"? Merely vague concepts… their "reality" may all be a mirage. Can we consider them to simply be living in their own world, shaped by their beliefs?"

"Being skilled isn't all that's it's made out to be. When you're strong, you become arrogant and withdrawn. Even if what you sought after was your dream."

Haku's monologue to Naruto about having meaning as Zabuza's weapon/tool (lots of insight into the cold shinobi world)...

Jiraiya's lecture on what makes a true shinobi (i.e. guts) to Orochimaru, and Hiruzen's on when a shinobi is at the their strongest (i.e. protecting what they love) to Orochimaru

Deidara's monologue on art to Sasuke before blew up the joint.

Nagato on pain/peace vs. Jiraiya, but more so against Naruto in Konoha - some really nice lines.

These are some that come to mind off the top of my head, albeit they're not quite speeches in the literal sense of the word, more accurately they're closer to monologues I suppose.

It is foolish to fear what we have yet to see and know!

People live their lives bound by what they accept as correct and true. That's how they define "reality". But what does it mean to be "correct" or "true"? Merely vague concepts… their "reality" may be nothing but an illusion. Can we consider them to simply be living in their own world, shaped by their beliefs?

Pain: We are both ordinary men, fighting for vengeance under the banner of justice. But if there is justice in vengeance, then justice will only breed more vengeance.

Hiruzen's poem about konoha :) "When the tree leaves dance, one shall find flames. The fire's shadow will illuminate the village, and once again, tree leaves shall bud anew."

and also at the end of Kakashi gaiden, Hiruzen is talking at the end (in the anime)

Jiraiya when he was dying, one of the best speeches of the series. and the "Give up, on me giving up!" speech from tales of a gutsy ninja

and Kakashi's speech when Naruto defeated Kakuzu. both when he was talking about naruto to yamato, and also when he was talking to kakuzu before he finished him off.

edit: Shikaku's speeches to Shikamaru are always interesting too.

Itachi

"Saru, you must protect those who have faith in you and who love the village, and train up to those to whom you can entrust the next generation… tomorrow, you will be… Hokage…!"
Tobirama

"There, that ending… was a little better. The frog at the bottom of the well drifts off into the great ocean. Heh heh… yep… pretty damn honourable… pretty damn honourable… I guess it's time to put down my pen. Right… I need a title for the next book… let's see… Ah, got it… "The Tale of Naruto Uzumaki"… perfect.

These were one of the bests... and Jiraiya's speach...

BUT my favourite sentence of the whole plot was : "I hate people who lie to themselves" /Naruto -> Sakura/
That was the point.
