cuz they put their chakra inside naruto and made it manifest into them, is that what gaara's mother did? did she put her chaklra into the sand so it auto defends? no, knowing that his mother truly loved him makes gaara's willpower stronger, so in turn, it affects the sand, which he now controls.

the love doesnt literally affects the sand directly

i dont disregard it, its just not stated this is the reason, so as far as we know, that isnt why.

it hasnt even been stated that the sand moves auto anymore, the fourth said thats what caused it to move on its own in the first place. we dont know for sure

I think i understand some people wouldnt agree with me but whatever.

I believe the manipulation of sand is from shukaku and its his trait that it left in gaara.

I believe gaara's mother perhaps took advantage of this and performed her own funijutsu for the sand to protect gaara automatically, but this isnt part of shukaku's trait

Kinda like how sasuke can manipulate amaterasu via his ms, but itachi's fuinjutsu automatically activates amaterasu at the sight of tobi's sharigan to protect him

thats not the same, amaterasu is done using MS and chakra.

Ive never denied that the sand protects him at will and thats stated in the manga that its because of his mother.

As for the manipulation of sand itself, the manga hints that its from shukaku

In my opinion Gaara is quickly becoming the strongest of all the Kages.

They can all beat each other and they obviously match up differently against each other but Gaara’s intelligence, talent and overall progress overshadows everyone else’s .The only other two, I can think of who had the same treatment is the two main characters, Naruto and Sasuke Uchiha. I truly believe Gaara, Sasuke and Naruto will be the three strongest characters before it’s all said and done

Right now, he is crushing opponents left a right - despite facing several elemental disadvantages, and he has shown an incredible analytical mind, where he only needs to see you once to figure out your weaknesses, etc..

He can create an entire battlefield (i.e.; sand) that suits him and his fighting style. His sand has become quicker and stronger than it ever was before. He used to make horrible looking clones but now you can’t tell the difference between him and his clones, and it’s said that Gaara’s ultimate defense is stronger than the raikage( susanoo is stronger but it also takes your soul), and what makes his sand so great is its ability to sense things around it e.g. when he found Muu.

Gaara’s sand could not follow lee’s speed, yet now it stopped the leg kick the raikage threw with killing intent and his sand managed to stop amaterasu- all this while remaining calm. Now, it’s debatable rather or not he can keep up with the raikage if A solely focuses on Gaara (I don’t think so yet), but that would be the only only bad match up Gaara could ever have.

What also makes him incredible (kinda like Onoki) is his ability being dangerous offensively while being defensively sound. He can go air bound on your ass, suddenly decide to bury your village and take you alongside with it, while spying on you with his third eye, hiding in his shield. This means that Gaara can potentially fight any opponent without being in a giant disadvantages.

My personal list:
1.Gaara (Intelligence,talent, and overall portential)
2.A(he can probably beat gaara, but gaara would do better against the other kages)
3.Mei (two kg's and great mastery over water)
4.Onoki (I’ve would put him much higher if he was younger- you don’t want your hips going out when an attack is coming)
5.Tsunade(she could also go higher, but we have not seen enough).

could it be like Blaze release said, maybe its a good theory

but what you are asking is like how did kakashi unlock MS? we know he has but the manga doesn't show how he got it.
