because that 50% you mentioned does not understand,comprehend, or feel loyalty, i myself understand loyalty.

naruto understands sasuke, itachi trusts naruto to save his little bro from the depths of darkness, if you pay attention to sasuke its a cry for help, sasuke has always been crying inside himself U_U

he feels alone, empty, heartless,vengeful, and the one person that understands sasuke that can relate is naruto, it is just like seeing your best friend falling into a deep hole that he can never get out of.

You need to look at it differently.

Naruto's childhood was parent-less. Friend-less. Bond-less.
Sasuke was one of the first people he formed a bond with. Brotherly love. Of course it's something you'd want to preserve after being lonely for 11 or 12 years :/

Moreover, after understanding about revenge from Pain, he wants to save Sasuke from its devastating consequences. Like a true friend. A real brother.

To tell you the truth saving Sasuke and bringing him back its like 25-40% plot of the naruto story and its f***ed up to the birnks of the narutoverse. I don't know why my friend got me hooked up with the damn Naruto Shippuden manga. Besides, I would rather see ninjas fighting to the death then searching for somebody for like 2-3 years even though he/she shares some connection. I just want to see Naruto trying to stop Tobi from activating the Mooneye and by doing that Naruto needs to train so much and defeating higher level ninjas but no he has to rescue his emo friend.

However, this manga does not the Shounen-ai genre and from many manga/anime I've checked out I have seen numerous bonds/friendship displayed in different ways. It appears that friendship is a big part of the Japanese people's culture and so when you look at it in that perspective you can then see e.g. why Naruto strives to save his friend who thinks of him as his best friend. He has stated various times and if Kishimoto-sensei truly wanted Naruto to be homosexual I think he would have depicted Naruto expressing his feelings towards Sasuke long ago and the same thing could be said about Sai.​
