Why isn't Kakashi S-class ninja?

Kakashi is just below kage level. heres a fake level scale i just made up.

1 weakest 10 = madara level.

i'd say kages are 7-8 around there and kakashi is a 6 to 7.

He can kill most jounin who don't have info on him easily...its his unique abilitiy that makes him above jounin...he may be dumb, but as shown, he got rid of asuma who was a midish level jounin, and had help by others...Hidan is almost the only exception..everyone else in akatsuki are kage level

Kakashi isn't Kage level. He is an elite Jounin. As is most Akatsuki members. Elite ninja, yes. Kage level, no.

I've changed my mind. Kakashi has the skill of a low-end Kage. He would be the weakest Hokage ever (possibly Kage) which really isn't an insult to him. He is still Kage level. Sasori is a low end Kage as well. Itachi, Oro and Jiraiya are mid-upper Kage level. Nagato and Tobi would be Elite Kage, as Hashirama, Hiruzen and Minato were.

not necessarily kage level, just superior to the average jounin. zabuza was nowhere near kage level for example.

If their powers are superior to average jonins then they rival kages.
Example neji is an average jonin. Kakashi is an elite jonin therefore his powers rival the kages.

Also note that he was considered for hokage until danzo most likely used shiusi eyes to his favour.

On the Zabuza note he wasnt an s-class ninja. He was a missing nin and thats it. Even that i would say he can possibly beat gaara

I think anbu is not determined by rank, you can be a chuunin and be an anbu member. Being an anbu member can't put you at least at jounin rank since kabuto effortlessly kills 7 of them in part 1.

And sannin >= kage, if you even include sannin in the rank.

Sasori, Itachi, Nagato and Tobi are the only Kage-level ninja. Why? Because they have many techniques that make them powerful. The rest have only one signature technique/ability/trait that makes them an Elite Jounin.

Kisame- Swordsmanship
Konan- Origami jutsu
Zetsu- S/T

None of those are Kage level ninja in my opinion

Possibly, lets not underestimate sai. Also ranks arent always accurate. Examples being naruto and sasuke. Both are genin yet they should be able to beat any of the kages in 1 vs 1 situation

ninjutsu rank sys not adapted version of naruto verse but it applies well fer this. we haven't seen any kaijuus besides fer so6p.

Lol you're comparing the hokages, who have all shown to be all well rounded ninjas to a certain extent......Look at gaara, who uses only sand...no taijutsu etc....Is he not kage level? Deidara using clay doesn't matter, he can still beat just about every jounin easily....Kakuzu 5 elements, 5 lives, skin hard as diamond etc.... beat all jounins easily.... kisame, big giant ball of water that drowns you...same thing.....Just like gaara , even though they are only skilled in 1 thing, that thing makes them ridiculously powerful when compared with others

He only got ms during the 3 year time skip, sometime between....Itachi had ms for 8 years... and finally was going blind....
Besides , Kakashi already said he was losing his eyesight

False. When I think Kage level, I think someone who could take on 2 or 3 Jounin at the same time. Hidan would be murdered if it was a Jounin, like Neji, and Konohomaru, a genin. Hidan has ONE technique due to his immortality. The dude sucks.

we all know that naruto and sasuke are just gennin because they have never had the time or opportunity to advance further.

Sai and asuma had all the opportunity to do so and there is no way that sai > asuma.

Being an anbu doesnt put you at jounin level or better, kabuto in part 1 easily kills 7 anbu members like they were nothing.

BTW, rankings in Narutoverse are as follows...
* Academy student
** Genin
*** Chunin
**** Anbu(Special jonin)
***** Jonin(strongest among the jonin are usually elected as Kages)
****** Kage(most elite jonin in the village)

That's all, other than that it's not a rank just a specification...

It doesn't matter if they beat Jounin! Kage Level insinuates that they can defeat other Kage. And Gaara is the weakest Kage ever at this point. One of my favorite characters but no, he is the weakest. Only because he was the strongest in his weak village (sorry, its true lol). That being said, Gaara would have defeated Deidara anytime and anywhere other than the Village he is sworn to protect. He would also beat Hidan, Konan, Zetsu, and I give him a very realistic chance against Kisame.
