It's been a long time since I posted a chapter. Months even. I apologize. Real life has kept me busy, but I haven't forgotten about you guys or the fanfiction. Everyday I'm thinking of ways to properly wrap up the plot and intricately detail each fight scene. Yes, the fanficiton is coming to an end, but fear not. There are still a number of chapters coming your way following this one. Enjoy ^_^
The 6th Great Ninja War
Chapter XXXIII: The Original Master
Kento landed in the midst of the battle, and for a moment, the individual battles paused, with each member of the 100 Stone Army now looking at Kento, questioning his motives.
Iwagakure Shinobi: Kento! Is this what you signed up for? To be a traitor? You would dare sully the honor and the name of the 100 Stone Army?!
Kento: *sigh* I should’ve known you all wouldn’t be happy with my decision. U_U If only you would realize how pointless all of this is. You’re fighting, but for what?!
Iwagakure Shinobi: You have no right to speak, traitor!!!
Kento took a deep breath and looked down, a somber look on his face. With his head down, he slowly reached for his back pouch to pull out his tanto, spinning it as he brought it to his front.
Kento: Enough talk. The real battle begins, now!
Kento rushed forward, preparing to take on a line of Iwagakure ninja. The first in front jumped toward Kento and performed a spinning heel kick into the ground, causing the ground beneath to break, but Kento immediately sidestepped the kick and threw a left hook at the ninja who had attempted to kick him, bringing him down onto the ground. Kento then continued forward, maneuvering around his assailants and dispatching them in close combat. When Kento had knocked down five ninja temporarily, he slammed his fists together and created a shell of earth around his arm. Once the next ninja rushed him, Kento delivered a powerful blow to the ninja’s chest, tossing him brutally across the battlefield and tearing the earth asunder while doing so. Bishamon’s subordinates were impressed by the strength of their new ally but were only able to turn away from their own fights for a moment. Eventually, boulders were being tossed around and rock formations started to come up out of the ground. At one moment, one of the 100 Stone Army lead soldiers encountered Kento and greatly pressured him in close-combat, brutally beating Kento with his fists and countering his every attack. Kento threw a desparate punch, but the shinobi caught it and prepared to strike Kento in the abdomen when he was hit by a powerful wave of Energy that blasted him away from Kento. Kento, in shock, looked in the direction of the wave’s origin and noticed Jinbei standing with his palm extended toward the shinobi.
Kento: Thanks for that. I owe you one.
Jinbei: Don’t mention it.
IN THE PALACE
Beyond the palace gates, in the very first area of the interior of Kirabi’s palace, Roku, Goro, Caliburn, Hiruzen, and Ace all entered. They were met with little greeting besides Akira, who was sitting in a chair waiting amidst several incapacitated Kumogakure guard shinobi. The area was large, intricate, with walls of high-class stone and metal-plating with traditional Kumogakure decorations. At the front of the room, leading further into the palace, were three large tunnel-like corridors leading to a different room.
Akira: Ah…took you guys long enough.
Roku: Sorry. Bisha took his sweet time getting here.
Goro: The trip was long. You can’t blame him.
Ace: So, which way is Kirabi’s room?
Roku: According to Yoshino’s map, there’s a throne room at the center of this palace, but it gives no more information about the palace.
Akira: There’s a series of corridors that wind through this palace, but I can’t feel Kirabi’s Energy.
Caliburn: Let me try. My Energy sensing abilities are more adept than Akira-san’s.
Caliburn touched his hand to the ground, closing his eyes as he did.
Caliburn: I feel two major Energies in this palace. One of them is faint, as if it’s in a closed-off room meant to obscure chakra sensing abilities.
Hiruzen: As long as we know it’s in the center of the palace, I can navigate us down the right path. From what I can see, the design of this palace has the purpose of keeping intruders from getting around it properly. There’s only one way to get to Kirabi’s room. As long as you know the direction of the center, I can determine the right path to take.
Roku: It’s settled then. Let’s move through the middle corridor and see how far we get from there.
Goro eagerly ran forward to check out the corridor. Nothing seemed to be off, so he motioned everyone towards him. Roku, Hiruzen, Akira, Ace, Caliburn, and the few warriors that had followed them moved towards Goro to proceed into the palace, but suddenly, a massive explosion of smoke occurred throughout the corridor before the group could reach it, and the resulting force knocked most of them to the ground. When the smoke cleared, the corridor was still intact, but Goro was nowhere to be found. Hiruzen looked in shock and he began to fear for his friend.
Hiruzen: Goro!!!!
Hiruzen cried out many times, hoping for Goro to respond, but there was silence. Hiruzen became grief stricken, but Roku immediately put his hand on Hiruzen’s shoulder, comforting him.
Roku: Don’t worry, Hiruzen. Goro wouldn’t go down that easily. In fact…I’m sensing his Energy right now. O_O
Hiruzen: Then, what happened to him?
ELSEWHERE IN THE PALACE
Goro appeared, standing on an open scroll, in a large room. He looked around the room, only to find two men standing before him. One had short, spiky blonde hair and blue eyes, and he was wearing a plain brown fishnet uniform. The other had short brown hair and black eyes, and he wore a long, open blue jacket on top of his clothes, which were the standard bluish-gray flak jacket on a full-body suit. Atop each of their heads was a large open hat with the kanji for “Wind” and “Water” respectively. They smiled and greeted Goro with applause.
Goro: Mizukage? Kazekage? O_O What’re you two doing here.
TenzoX: Did you honestly believe that we wouldn’t be waiting for you.
Naruto..: Our last battle at Yasuragi resulted in our retreat, but we had no intention of disappearing after that.
TenzoX: While we had hoped to capture Roku’s entire group, you will do for now. Prepare to die.
Goro chuckled to himself, his laughter gradually getting louder. Tenzo and Naruto glared at Goro, angrily, feeling as though he was mocking them.
TenzoX: Something funny to you?
Goro gave a heavy sigh of relief before sneering quickly.
Goro: You two can’t kill me.
Naruto..: That’s our line…
Goro: But I’ll acknowledge you, out of your bravery in going to such lengths just to capture me. Now, then, Edo Tensei Kages, let’s settle this.
IN KONOHA
There was unrest. The sky still retained a noticeably deep blue color with natural light, along with the light of candles all around the village, permeating the area. The temporary Hokage, Hasashi, stepped outside from the top of the Hokage Mansion get some fresh air. Hasashi leaned against the railing at the edge of the building, overlooking the village with uncertainty. Hasashi raised an eyebrow upon noticing something strange, but he didn’t turn around.
Hasashi: I don’t recognize you. Mind telling me what you’re doing up here?
Gatsndshanks: If you don’t mind, I’ll be taking the mantle of Hokage from you.
OUTSIDE THE PALACE
The battles became increasingly intense. A large array of jutsu of all types were being sparked throughout the village. Fireballs flew through the air, lightning bolts reached to the sky, waters blasts rained from above, cold winds blew across the island, and stones were being cast around the palace district. The Earth sage apprentices fought valiantly against the 100 Stone Army and Kirigakure shinobi, but at this moment, they seemed to be outmatched. One of the Iwagakure shinobi had just defeated one Kiyoshi warrior before he was attacked suddenly from above by one of the Earth sage apprentices. The Iwagakure ninja easily dodged the attack by leaping back and sliding backward to come to a stop. The apprentice create an earth spear from the ground and charged at the Iwagakure shinobi with great rage, but the Iwagakure ninja immediately performed a serpent handseal and caused spikes of Earth to rise from the ground, resulting in one of the large spikes impaling the unfortunate apprentice through the chest. The apprentice looked in horror as he was impaled, blood now running down the spike of earth from his chest. The other apprentices gazed on, their hearts filled with terror at the sight of one of their comrades suffering such a brutal fate. The Iwagakure shinobi smirked cruelly and prepared to attack when there was a spontaneous explosion some distance away. All heard the sound and turned for a moment to see what had happened.

100 Stone Army Leader: Fool. You, who would dare raise his fist to me, are not worthy. :|
The army shouted in triumph, proud of their leader for defeating Kento, who himself was one of the commanding officers of the group. The leader raised his hand in the air, and all of the ninja regrouped, forming a line across the valley in almost perfect unison. Then, each of the Iwagakure shinobi formed a series of handseals, ending with a palm clap. Together, they all shouted in perfect harmony.
100 Stone Army: Earth Release: Falling Dusty Sky!
When they said this, the battlefield shook rampantly, and several places around the battlefield erupted with nothing but solid rock from below accompanied with a large amount of dust and debris. This occurred for several moments, but the present sage apprentices and Kiyoshi warriors could not stop this, as the army seemed to be protected by an invisible force. The ground continued to erupt with tiny rocks and debris that continually rose into the air, eventually forming a large cloud of what seemed to be a brown dust above the area. One of the sage apprentices heaved a boulder at the sky to try to understand the nature of this technique, but when the boulder reached the cloud, it crumbled to pieces in an instant, and the pieces became a part of the cloud. Kento struggled on the ground, noticing everyone staring up in shock through his blurred vision. Then, Kento saw the army lined up across the valley, and he was overcome with great fear. He used his last bit of strength to warn his comrades immediately.
Kento: RUN!!!!!!!!!! No defense can save you from that technique!!!!!
The Kiyoshi warriors and sage apprentices began to run away from the army just as they noticed the cloud approaching them, getting closer and closer very quickly. Part of the ground burst asunder, stopping most of them in their tracks, and then, the earth shook, tripping most of the warriors and apprentices. One apprentice, who was particularly overwhelmed with fear, let out a cry.
Sage Apprentice: No…it can’t be. There’s no way this can be possible!!
Kiyoshi Warrior: We’re doomed o_o
The warriors and apprentices let out their own cries for help and screeches of fear, giving up all hope of survival at the realization of the magnitude of power the approaching cloud carried. The other Sages, scattered around the village island, noticed the cloud at the top of the massive mountain and wondered exactly what was going on. The edges of the cloud, which extended over the rim of the gargantuan valley, which was several hundred meters away, had come into contact with the top of the mountain in which the valley was situated, and it easily decimated the top of the valley, crushing the solid rock and turning it to dust and debris. The cloud was now moments away from the army, ready to crush the Kiyoshi warriors and sage apprentices. The fearful apprentice screamed at the top of his lungs, the pressure of the situation converging on him.
Kiyoshi Warrior: We’re dead!!
Sage Apprentice: Help us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don’t wanna dieeeeeee!!!!
The poor apprentice broke down in tears, unprepared for his fate ahead. He looked forward with grief, but saw naught but the edge of a tan and brown robe with square patterns with circles inside them along the edge of the robe, which fluttered in front of the crying apprentice. The apprentice’s tears stopped rushing, and he looked up, speechless, to find that the cloud of dust had not yet destroyed anyone. Instead, the cloud of dust was hovering over everyone, as if it had been stopped completely in its tracks.

Sage Apprentice: (No way…he’s holding it up…with his bare hand…)
Bishamon: My, my. What a pathetic bunch of kids. To think you’d need the Grandmaster Sage to save you, my own disciples…I’m disappointed.
Sage Apprentices: Bishamon…sama.
Bishamon: And what of the valiant Kiyoshi Warriors I’ve heard so much about. Has peace made you all so fearful? I know the warriors in Roku’s and Caliburn’s personal settlements would not have been so spineless. It seems without a Master to lead your settlement, you’ve become accustomed to taking things easy.
100 Stone Army Leader: How did you stop our combined technique? O_O
Bishamon: Warriors, apprentices, look at yourselves, wallowing in the dirt like worms. What an eyesore. *takes a deep breath* Step aside and watch carefully…I will show you what it means to be one with the Earth.
Bishamon gave off an impressive aura, filled with true strength in mind, body, and spirit. He looked calmly at the lined up army of Iwagakure elites, which surprised them all. Only a madman would stand up to an army himself, they thought, but something about Bishamon’s composure made them feel uneasy.
100 Stone Army Leader: You! You are Bishamon Sarutobi…
Bishamon: You know who I am, it seems. Then you also understand that as the teacher of the original 100 Stone Army, I have no choice but to put an end to this corrupt group of shinobi. The formation of this elite army is something I truly regret, indeed.
Sage Apprentices: Bishamon-Sama…
Bishamon raised his arms up slowly, or at least, it appeared to be done slowly due to the sense of fear instilled in the army by this man. When his arms had reached to the sky, the earth below the entire army rose rapidly, with several different areas being higher or lower than others. The army leaped from the rising earth and fired a barrage of earth dragons in unison. The warriors and apprentices looked in terror at the vast amount of earth dragons, but Bishamon simply touched his hand to the ground, creating an enormous wall of earth that stretched across the entire valley for hundreds of meters and effortlessly blocked the earth dragons. Bishamon took a strong stance and then thrust his right fist into the air quickly, and this was followed by one shinobi being launched into the air on a tall but slim pillar of rock, tossing him violently into the sky, screaming. Bishamon then opened his hand and a large, gigantic hand-shaped formation made entire of solid rock rose from the ground in front of him. He then lowered his hand slowly, the hand of rock mimicking him. When Bishamon’s hand was level, the rock hand crashed into the ground, creating a large tremor and possibly crushing the ninja that failed to escape its range. Bishamon still could sense a great number of shinobi remaining, and none had been ultimately defeated yet. Then, the large wall in front of Bishamon and his group started to collapse and Bishamon noticed several shinobi forcibly tearing down the wall to the east and west. Soon, a majority of the wall had collapsed and both sides could clearly see each other. Bishamon’s apprentices were in dismay that after Bishamon’s previous attempts, the army had not suffered many losses. Bishamon calmly looked on before taking a deep breath. When he was done, he opened his eyes again, now filled with an intent to kill, and raised both of his hands up as if regarding a large area, and when he did this, large, highly flexible pillars of compact, sturdy rock rose from the ground, entangling each individual shinobi of the opposing force and throwing them to the ground after lifting them above the battlefield. Once the entire army was on the ground, still trying to recover from Bishamon’s attack, Bishamon turned his hands down, crossing both arms as they faced the ground. The ground below the Iwagakure Shinobi suddenly started to soften and then began to sink—so rapidly, in fact, that their entire bodies were submerged within thirty seconds. Then Bishamon, with both hands crossed and facing the ground, made fists with each hand, clenching them tightly as he did. There was a subtle change in the surface of the earth that had previously softened. The layer of surface seemed to harden, becoming more jagged and rugged in form. The warriors and apprentices could sense the tension in this situation and Bishamon’s strain to tighten the earth, as if the ground had been completely overturned underneath the surface. After a minute, Bishamon let out another deep breath and dropped his stance. The apprentices believed it was over, but Bishamon did not stop. He approached the battlefield more closely and stopped just short of the hardened layer of rock that he had created to keep the shinobi underground buried. Then, he knelt down and placed his palm gently on the ground, closing his eyes as he did with a sense of calmness and composure. Bishamon spoke gravely.
Bishamon: Become a part of the very foundation of the earth…Earth Release…Mountain Crater Burial U_U
As soon as Bishamon said those words, a surge of energy went out in the form of continuous waves of pressure through the battlefield, creating a heavy tremor along with a mysterious feeling of desolation underground. The pressure waves continued to surge, causing parts of the ground to rupture as the underground was heavily pressurized. After a minute, the waves stopped and Bishamon removed his hand from the ground. The Kiyoshi warriors and Earth Sage apprentices could do nothing but stare in awe. The presence given off by Bishamon’s sense of victory, however solemn his look, was immense and marvelous yet terrifying. The apprentices now truly knew the man they served under. The remnant of the earth wall Bishamon had created crumbled to the ground as he quietly approached Kento, who had been just out of the range of the battle that had just ensued.
Jinbei: ……a…amazing. o_o
Sage Apprentices: *in total awe* wow…
Bishamon: Kento…you fought well.
Kento: ………Bishamon…sama…I………I can’t……I can’t feel…my legs.
Bishamon’s eyes widened at this notion. He looked at Kento with regret and was disappointed in himself. Suddenly, a part of the area that had been pressurized ripped and a hand came out of it. Someone was climbing out from underground, and they managed to return to the surface after much struggling to get out. Surprisingly, it was the leader of the 100 Stone Army. He was badly beaten up, heavily bruised and bleeding on all limbs. Part of his face was torn, revealing his teeth and jaw bone. His eyes were filled with anger and hatred, and when he clenched his fist, causing it to bleed even more, an aura of red and orange surrounded his hand. He started to rush at Bishamon, screaming ferociously. Bishamon laid Kento down and instructed his apprentices to come.
Bishamon: Care for Kento immediately or take him to our medical unit on the northeastern perimeter.
Bishamon turned and caught the Iwagakure leader’s fist just as it was launched towards him. The 100 Stone Army leader was awestruck that his attack was stopped. Bishamon’s left arm, which was holding the shinobi’s fist, started to absorb the essence of the attack, evident by the fact that the red and orange colored chakra started to travel surreally from the Iwagakure leader’s hand to Bishamon’s, and the chakra seemed to be transferred from Bishamon’s left hand to his right hand, becoming even larger and more powerful. Bishamon curled his fingers in his right hand without closing his fist, concentrating the energy into his palm.
Bishamon: Explosion Release? U_U I’m impressed you’re able to use it at all, but if you don’t mind me offering advice, your control is lacking……*looks down* You’ll have to forgive me. *lifts right hand up and closes it into a fist* For raising my fist to you…
Bishamon immediately punch the Iwagakure leader in the gut, resulting in a large blast of explosive chakra that completely blew away the ninja violently. When the smoke from the explosion cleared, Bishamon was standing with his fist out and his left hand empty, and the Iwagakure shinobi was nowhere in sight, having been completely decimated.
Bishamon: I am not worthy…
