What is a Sage EXACTLY??

ok we all know or should know that a Sage is someone that allows the user to sense and gather the natural energy around a person. Senjutsu practitioners can then learn to draw the energy of nature inside of them blending it with their own chakra, adding a new dimension of power to the sage's chakra, resulting in the creation of "senjutsu chakra". A person who is able to use senjutsu is called a sage.

Now here is the tricky part, does this mean that only the frogs of Mount Myoboku are capable of teaching this to people? Are they the only ones that can acquire this mode? What about the other animal summons in their world do they have something like this as a sage?

Now to go even deeper, the Sage of six paths has the title "SAGE", does this "Sage" have the same meaning as Naruto's Sage mode? Did he go to Mount Myoboku to train and become a "Sage"?

I guess the bottom line question is What then is a Sage?

but hold on, if it was or is just a rank, then why isn't Naruto called a Sage all the time? why does he have to go "into sage mode" to be called a sage? is he only recognized as a Sage in that mode? shouldn't he be known as a Sage all the time even though he is only strong in that mode.

Also if Sage is just a rank doesn't the first Hokage deserve to be known as a Sage? What about all the other great Ninjas?

This chakra cannot be seen by anyone other than those who have been trained in senjutsu.
This new chakra enables the user to enter an empowered state called Sage Mode, which can then drastically increase the strength of all ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu. A person who is able to use senjutsu is called a sage (仙人, sennin). It would seem that it stems from the toads of Mount Myōboku, as only Shima, Fukasaku, Jiraiya and Naruto have been seen using it. Gamakichi and Gamabunta also seem to be familiar with it. Exactly that is a Sage that we all know right? But this can't be referred to the Sage of six paths unless Naruto has two different meaning for the word Sage

Remember that the Sage of Six Paths was also the first & total embodiment of ninjutsu.
And you don't have to be a toad, but they seem to be the only ones (outside of the ninja that sign contracts with them & have large chakra bases) that can mold & use nature chakra.
