His eye isn't drawn in detail. It's shaded and the non-canon anime gif shows his eyes reverting to Sharingan and Rinnegan. Based on the reveal later, the anime writers did that to show he was de-powered. Seems you think Sasuke powered down willingly.

Nonetheless, only normal Sharingan & Rinnegan were shown in the battle.
