His sinking into quicksand was also a manipulation as he couldn't hear the sound of sand rubbing against each other either. Nonetheless, Barney could feel his feet starting to feel immobilized so he went for a shuriken in his pocket and as he took it out, he would slightly apply pressure, running it through the lining of his pocket. Piercing trough it, it would also create a surface wound on his thigh. The slight pain would send impulses through his nervous system and into his brain, creating an influx of calcium ions that would reset his focus momentarily. Once again, he was able to see Zora. That's rude. You know, once upon a time, I was considered a genjutsu master. Yet again, it appeared as if they were in a standstill. Upon releasing himself from the illusion, Zora didn't follow up to kill him. She was having fun, toying around. It was obvious that she was much stronger than him. His chakra depleting rapidly wasn't a good sign either. Thank God, his arsenal was so sparse that he wouldn't need to use chakra for much longer. To give Zora a taste of her own medicine, Barney made a handseal and projected his voice throughout the battlefield, trying to trick her as if this was a clone all along. I admire your efforts, but now it's time to fight the REAL me! As he said that to distract Zora he would throw the shuriken he held in his hand and lunge forward at her, concealing the string that was attached to it. Here goes nothing.

The proximity and speed barely allowed Barney to react in time to avoid the kick. Just as he heard the kick soaring through the air and realized what's about to happen, he would slightly move his head sideways to the right. The dynamic entry would barely scrape Barney's left cheek as he would avoid it freely, first time in this turn. A drop of blood could be seen forming from the scrape on his cheek and Barney would pull the thread on the shriken that was thrown beforehand with his right hand. The shriken would fly backwards, aimed into the back of Zora. Simultaneously, with the same motion he would punch Zora into her thigh, as she would fly by Barney, with all his might. Almost got me in the first half, not gonna lie.
