As in: who stood in the way of his cycle of hatred the most? who posed a threat to eternal strife?

-snip-
He wanted to kill but he was always reminded by others, of his own self he never overcame the curse of hatred.
It's clear then what the biggest enemy of the curse of hatred is(friendship)? And all possible because of Madara sama.Yeah, he would never be able to do what he did alone. Which is why another reccuring theme in the series is...

Well, that's an easy answer.

Because honestly, who else could it be?
The whole idea behind the cycle of hatred is that if you kill, you're just gonna create more hatred and perpetuate it. And while we have many heroes and badasses in this story, Naruto is the one who broke it. Naruto is the one who rose above and didn't kill.
Its what makes him the protagonist instead of someone like Itachi or Hashirama. Even with how perfect and noble both are displayed, Itachi still killed his clan, he perpetuated the cycle of hatred. Hashirama still killed Madara, he perpetuated the cycle of hatred.
Naruto didn't. He broke the cycle. He redeemed Sasuke and he redeemed Nagato.
And thus he rose above.
Yes but that does not mean there were no other threats, Itachi for example held off Obito's plan for many years, long enough for Naruto to grow strong, he was a threat to Madara's plans multiple times. BZ also tried to convert Ashura incarnates suggesting Indra incarnates were also a threat.
Itachi and Jiraiya
I'm also guessing Uzumaki since their affinity to bijuu made them the biggest threat to Madara's plans
In terms of BZ and Madara's plan - Nagato and Konan in some way after Naruto turned them, but specifically Nagato, he had the most important tool - the Rinnegan.
It's funny now that you think of it, the most important thing was entrusted to Nagato which could betray them anytime and in fact he did. Without Rinnegan they couldn't bring alive Madara and 1 MS Obito would have been easily handled during war even with Kabuto and his ET help.
Fortunate for Obito, Nagato sacrificed himself and died after he turned good and Obito managed to get the location of Nagato's body from Konan. If Nagato somehow didn't die after using rinne tensei or Konan didn't lose to Obito, the bad guys would have never get Rinnegan again which means no alive Madara and no Juubi. The war could still happen, Kabuto could still summon ET Madara but with fake Rinnegan's he couldn't summon gedo mazo or become host with ET body. And 1 MS Obito would have been easily handled by top tiers like EMS Sasuke, BSM Naruto or Edo Kages, assuming he would even try the war option in this scenario.
I'm not following this. If nagato didn't sacrificed his eyes earlier, Madara would've came back alive faster and less people would've died in the war. Rinnegan or not Tobi still had control over the Gedo statue with its bijus, he could summon that thing whenever he wanted to aid him in war. And kabuto didn't need a rinnegan to bring back Madara as edo tensei either.
The whole plan of Tsuki no me is to enslave people while they are alive not kill people before it happened. Tobi with Rinnegan or not the outcome would've remained the same with Kaguya's resurrection.
There's too many scenarios that could happen, but assuming we're following canon story, if Obito somehow managed to survive to the point he became juubi jin, he's canonically dealt by Naruto and Sasuke before he could cast IT with a god tree and then it's over because ET Madara can't do anything, since there's no one with Rinnegan that BZ could take over and use rinne tensei for him.
