What are your thoughts on Hiruzen as a character?

I think his characters pretty good overall, he seemed pretty realistic to me as far as like, a leader who’s good but still makes bad decisions, and also does things behind the scenes when necessary. His hype on the other hand is just that, hype

Hype and too nice. Ran Konoha somewhat good peace wise. But was a lil B when Danzo and the elders was doing bad ish. Also pretty sure Hiruzen was no way in hell oblivious as to how Danzo all a sudden covered his whole arm and eye up in bandages after the massacre of the most OP clan.

Nah. He was a hypocrite. He said the village is his family and yet gave Itachi the order to execute the whole Uchiha Clan just because Danzo told him that negotiation is useless.

Really wasn't much of a choice. At least he sent his own clans men to take care of the Uchiha clan, the kaguya clan who did the exact same thing as the Uchiha clan got whipped out by the full force of the seven swordsmen clan and the mist ninja forces.
Hiruzen barely had a say, it was agreed upon by the higher ups.

one of the eldest hokage in office, apparently, probably because of the 4th dying.No one else was that old, in the hokage office. After him, they just started replacing hokage, after hokage. Not even more than 10 years in office.

It's like they rushed the process cause they wanted naruto to be hokage.Naruto could've been a dad for a while longer, before becoming a hokage.

So does kakazu, kakashi, spiral zetsu and many other advanced shinobi's who are not a kage. 5 changes in nature is an advance level but for a kage its kinda weak if that's all you have.

Wow, I rarely hear someone say that they outright hate Hagoromo (even if they disagree with him). Care to explain why you hate him?

OT: Hiruzen was the worst hokage. There is no excuse for allowing a genocide to take place (and under the orders of your own cabinet no less). Not to mention the Hyuuga affair, the kidnapping of Kushina, the village's treatment of Naruto, etc...

i hated him in the anime only arc alot. his actions and mistakes... and his character. i just didn't like him. even when he was there with team 7 in the end i didn't like his lines and actions. i just hate his charater

I like Hiruzen. He was a great Hokage with badass abilities. He mastered many Jutsu and mastered the Five elements , and his summoning is very badass.

Hiruzen was the grandpa of Konoha. He was very human.

But obviously , Uchiha fan hate him because he left Danzo give order to Itachi to destroy the Uchiha clan. But Hiruzen was right , the world need Light and Darkness for its balance. Konoha needed Light ( Hokage ) and Darkness ( Root ).

So no , Hiruzen wasn't naive with Danzo , just he was very wise and understood the subtlety of the world.

Was it specifically the fact that he chose one son over the other to be the leader of ninshuu, or do you entirely disagree with the concept of ninshuu or is it something else that you refer to when you mention his mistakes and actions?
