[Sub]What happened to him during the war is not at all conducive to his current orientation, but rather what transpired after said misfortune.[/Sub]

Where did it say he liked peace? He seemed neutral imo

Well being on meis and chojuros side you would assume he's on the side of making the mist anew so it's surprising with a character whose closely tied to mei and chojuro would do this

But you can see ao's spirits been broken I'm interested to know how and why's his character changed over this time just as much as I'm interested on how he survived

This definitely isn't something Kishi would've done. This Ao isn't Kishi's Ao. In the original series, nothing suggested he had even the slightest bit of evil in him. It makes sense for a child or teen to go from completely good to evil because their minds and whatnot haven't been fully developed yet.
How old was Ao at the end of Shippuden, like 50? It'd take one huge tragic event or a string of tragic events for someone of such a mature age to turn to the dark side like that.

Nevertheless, I find it interesting. I'd like to see Ao interact or at least speak of Mei and/or Chojuro.

Maybe he is threatened ? Maybe he’ll die if he doesn’t follow orders

That doesn't mean he was an advocate of peace or anything like that, he seemed more like the type of Shinobi that would be ready for war at any time, no questions asked. Yeah, i'd like to know why he joined Kara.

Well, he somehow survived a Juubidama that killed everyone but him. He didn't walk away scratch free either, the dude was missing limbs and stuff. So, there's a reason.

The answer is right in front of your eyes. He lost his ****ing limbs and now hes crippled. Hes depressed. Hes ****ed up & he needs to vent his feelings. Give him room. He'll do some bad shit and later in the series he'll be talk no jutsued by Boruto & become good again.

This is total speculation but my theory is that wherever he was, trapped and unsure of the situation at all became disillusioned by the world and started to resent everyone and everything considering he was left to die originally. However, finally being freed by Kara assuming, they ended up helping him out all while somewhat brainwashing him into idea of what's to come. Intrigued by the situation he decides to follow along, possibly gaining more from this than he has from anything else.

Could be that he was saved by some Kara member from the Juubi dama.

He doesn't like how the world is now or Kara saved him so he's indebted to them, etc.

He's part of their organization tho.

He is treated as an "outer".. I have no idea if it means he is part of the organization or not but it implies he isn't.

Greatest plot twist in Shonen history XD

AO's dead body on the ground

Naruto and Sasuke standing in the distance

Naruto "Boruto sorry it took us long to get here, come over her"

Boruto "Is it true Dad that your..."

Naruto "Sigh.... **** it"

Flash step to Boruto and chokes him unconscious

Sasuke "To bad it came to this"

Naruto "I'll just erase his memories afterwards... Our plan will continue"

Who gonna save NV then? XD

This is glorious!

Why the hell wouldn't he be part of their organization? The inners called him an outer agent.

Are we discussing anything here? I don't think so. Lets see what he is, futurology is not my field of expertise neither are assumptions.
