Because it was only a reference. And you do know Ukyo Kodachi writes the anime, right?

He only confirmed the arc to be canon.
Not the whole anime and not everything that happened during this Arc.

He only confirmed the arc to be canon.
Not the whole anime and not everything that happened during this Arc.

If the author for the Boruto manga wrote the arc..That means it's canon. And he DID write the arc.

The little bit part obviously refers to the simple fact that only two panels referenced the anime in passing. Rather than being the central focus or whatever. I mean, come on, how much longer does this argument have to last? The anime exclusive arcs are obviously canon.

Yes, it is. The whole concept of canon is being acknowledged by the original author as part of the story. As he wrote the arc and went even farther to reference it in the manga, that legitimizes it as canon.

He's the anime story supervisor not writer, some other guy does the writing for the anime.
