I was literally about to post this in reply to the other thread. Sasuke could differentiate his own chakra from deidara's in his own body so clearly it can differentiate chakra even on a cellular level.

Maybe he didn´t have background Sharingan knowledge but he did have actual Sharingan abilites, and abilities of his eye were in no way inferior to normal Sharingan. Only problem was exhaustion Kakashi was fealing from using it.

kakashi talks about his level in the use of the sharingan, and not the level of the uchiha members.
also, kakashi's informations is all wrong, he said that the hyuga clan is the origin of the uchiha clan

and I'm still waiting for a page of the manga that says the byakugan can see on a cellular level .
