As we know Itachi is the most overhyped character in NV. However I will debunk all that hype with this thread.

1. Yata Mirror 360 degree protection.

2. Itachi is invincible .

As we know Black Zetsu said Itachi is invincible. Of course it pure lie based on 2 facts :

Madara was also called invincible but we know that is not true :

Itachi himself admit he can´t beat Jiraiya and that if they fough they would kill or badly hurt each other.

3. Itachi was scared of Gai and run like coward.

Itachi fans are saying Itachi simply didn´t want to kill Gai because he is Konoha jonin. But they easily forget that if Gai didn´t arrive Kisame would kill Kakashi.

That's not right. Everything stated on Itachi has in fact been true. Think about it, why go through the trouble to further validate something in the manga, and databook, when some things aren't validated in both, such as Temari's wind technique being capable of blowing the universe away, or Amaterasu, being as hot as the sun, yet in the manga no such detailing is done to reinforce such ideals? The reason for this is because Itachi's "hype" is fact.
