As of August 5th 12:36 AM Pacific Time it's got a 27% on Rotten Tomatoes. 7.4/10 on IMBD and a 42% on metacritic.

If you got second thoughts about seeing the movie trust me....YOU SHOULD SEE IT. Let's be honest if the critics all gave B v S a 8/10 then the public would agree with it. The public is full of sheeps and stupid people. They let the media control their thoughts and you don't want to be a sheep.

tl;dr: Go see the movie even if reviews suck and decide for yourself

I just came from sawing it and honestly it was dissapointing. I can see now why it got negative views....Dont get me wrong it was entertaining but the bar on these comic movies are so high I dont expect anything less than a 5 star movie but it felt empty.

- The jokes weren't funny
- The action was mediocre
-Characters were mediocre
-Mediocre plot

This movie can be dumped under that new x men movie imo. Honestly it felt like they were trying to ride on Will SMith coat tails but failed hard because the chemistry between characters just didn't click at all.

Smh, that's the issue you expected suicide squad to be 5/5.

Okay. But I bet you think Civil War was great when it's mediocre
Civil War mediocre? Cmon I think you're being too obsessed with the critics yourselves now. Let me tell you something about me, I'm not a big critic at all. I have a friend whose a giant critic and out of my circle of friends I'm the least critical. Civil War is one of my favorite comic movies of all time only bested by Dark Knight. I'm being totally honest about my review Suicide Squad just wasn't that good.

Whoop I was thinking of a totally different MArvel movie lmao.. Civil War was still better than this tho.

The biggest issue I see is people base comic adaptation movies on actual movie criteria which sounds good and all as it is a movie but a comic adaptation doesn't need to be a good "movie" it needs to be a good adaptation. If it's a good or great adaptation then the movie overall is usually good.

Deadpool for instance, absolutely loved the movie, one of the best adaptations done yet; that said it wasn't a great "movie" but because it was a great adaptation the whole movie faired better. Realistically it was an average story with a basic plot and they even had to change some stuff for the movie but it's still a good movie. SS from the trailers seems to be a very good adaptation despite the few changes people can't seem to look past(Joker's tat's and Harley's voice being the primary) The biggest reason I think BvS and MoS had trouble getting support is A. they weren't as loyal to the character adaptations as the other movies have been and B. Bandwagon. People love to share the opinion that has the most support so those undecided or uninterested will default to the more popular voice which happens to be negative this early in.

Critics aren't there to tell you what your opinion is. Show some respect, they're just doing their jobs.

Shutting down Rottentomatoes because 'they were mean to a movie i like' is straight pathetic.

Film school rejects, nothing more. People don't need them to make a decision of wether to see a movie or not
Ouch. Thanks man- sick stereotype, film critics are there to get the ball rolling on film discussion. Critics ironically don't force their opinions on others, they're just there for film in the large scale, give a first impression of new releases and just entertainment to read.

Also I passed film school thank you very much- flying colours. Doesn't stop it from being my passion.

The problem with most reviewers today is their reviews are more subjective than objective. If they disliked a story they can't over look that and admit what the films did right too instead they harp on and on about how they felt about the movie. I don't like Opera but that doesn't mean I'm gonna say someone sang a bad song if technically they hit all the marks just because I don't like what those marks add up to which is the opposite of how most approach a critique now.

Any reviewer worth their salt wouldn't. That sounds like IMDb standard reviews left by fans to me, a conclusive review talks about the film as a product, production and reception- not just their actual thoughts on it.

Sure there is no conclusive correct opinion- but in the same way sports commentators and scientists are consulted as 'experts', so are people who have devoted actual study time to film as a whole. Doesn't make the opinion the official decider, just means people are generally interested and seek out a specialist's opinion.

Never forget that film critics are also, the biggest fans of film. If there's a bad review, it's done with disappointment- if there's a good one it's done with love for the medium boiiii

You say that but most current reviewers seemingly find great joy in tearing down a product on a personal level. It's not just fan reviews either I've been on separate sites where authors write their review in multi paragraph format and only focus on how they felt the movie didn't live to their expectations or how much they disliked x's personality in real life etc. etc. Also I don't know that film critics are the biggest fans of film tbh, they're a fan of film when it fits their preferred style but anything else not so much, you're not gonna be able to sit here and tell me Roger Ebert a man who seemingly disapproves of around 80% of all films is a bigger fan of film than I am just because he feels the incessant need to tell others his opinions.
