As an atheist the only reason I see for believing in God is because you don't want to believe there is no life after death. But if you're fine with the concept of dying and that's that, you don't have a reason to believe.

One could argue that you could be part of a religion so you could live life the right way and stuff like that, but to me you can choose how to live life on your own. You don't need anything to tell you how to be a good person except yourself and common sense.

When I talk about it with people I only accept believing in life after death as the main reason for believing in God. Anything like "To do the right thing" or "To always have someone to guide me" like no. Do the right thing because you're normal; use mentors who are actually in your life to guide you

In my country, there is the law saying that forcing other people to tell you about their religion and beliefs is a crime. That makes us completely free to believe whatever we want, and we're also free to share or not to share our beliefs, whatever they are. I'm not sure about the situation in your country, but if it's anything like it is in mine, then you don't really have to reflect on this matter all that much, especially if it's just because some people have beliefs that are different from yours.

ive seen an apple drop but I haven't seen a Big Bang create many planets and life. People still treat it as facts.
The fact that you've seen an apple drop and gravity is still a theory should show you how much weight the word theory has. Bear in mind this is observable evidence of THEORIES like evolution, and none of "acts of god."

Well I'm pretty sure some things in the bible are actually proven facts, so to discount the whole thing is a little of an assumption. No one is forcing you to believe it, but as a Christian I hope you do eventually. You should also ask why shouldn't you. I mean, in my opinion I feel like our world is so systematic. Like I just can't believe that things are the way they are because of chance. Why are humans so different from animals, why are we able to have this conversation but other beings cannot. What made the water cycle function like it does. Why does everything coexist in such a way that we all depend on one another. The world looks designed imo, so I'm the type of guy who sees a chair and believes that a chair maker made it. Idk what you believe but I know many people who will believe in evolution it things like the Big Bang THEORY. Not proven but they would believe in that. Perhaps you don't believe in anything. Lol it wouldn't hurt tho to believe in God.
lol typical cristian comment. the perfect example of why there are still this many theists out there. you lack proper education. so let me get this straight. the church makes billions of dollars from people like you. they claim story of the past as fact. stories that are millenia old and that took place in a time wehre people still believed the earth was flat.... youre saying that stuff is right and youre saying everything the scientist (who btw do not make billions like the church) established and researched is wrong? how can you possibly still believe in the bible when there is so much bullcrap written in it? how can you possibly still believe in the bible when there are over a few thousand differences between the oldest found version and the standart version of today...?

Looks like you're the only Christain in the sea of atheists. Concerning the big bang analogy you used, you should know that their is a massive difference between believing in some single event and dedicating your life to an imaginary being in the sky. Religion is mean't to completely change your life and control your actions. On the other hand believing in the big bang is inconsequential because it's just a singular event (not proven) that has no effects on our lives.

And yes it would hurt to believe in God. You have to marry to have ***, you can't committ adultery etc. You can't celebrate war or guns and you can't celebrate demons and monsters. Also you can't do drugs. Plus you can't cuss. I'd much rather live a religion free life where I get to do whatever I want, whenever I want.

But can't religion have had a purpose, like for people to do good or to connect? What other animals has religion than humans?
animals dont have a complex enough brain to even have a conscious. well most of them anyways... yea religion had a purpose. look up history. it was and still is all about power. conquering regions. enslaving people. making money. simple as that. its like a virus. there were a few religions howeever which imo at least made somehow sense. like. saying the sun is a god. im perfectly fine with that. you can see the sun. its right there. it gives you warmth. it gives you light. it makes your food grow etc... thats a religion which in the past at least made some sense. but all those huge ass religions like the church or islam are pathetic and brutal. not to mention how little sense they make....for real bro, "Naruto" would be more credible than those bullcrap...

also remember. scientist never "believe". scientist know, by narrowing stuff down to a point until it is proven wrong.. its simple as that. the big bang theory is just one amongs others, they scientist have established so far. just because there is no answer YET doesnt mean that the religions, which were invented millenia ago have any reason to be credible.... ffs they were found in a time people still believed in witches, flat earth etc...

If you don't know then why do you even believe? Is it a feeling of satisfaction? Does it make you feel good to believe? Do you feel safe when you believe? What's the difference between believing in something that you aren't sure of and not believing in something that you don't care about? Wouldn't it just be easier to not believe at all and not waste your time on something you have no certainty of then believing in something that might not exist?
Ether way i have nothing to lose if its false i die all the same as anyone who dont believe if its true then i go live in paradise its not much a waste of time i still keep learning like anyone else and i wouldnt say its something i dont care about its just something i do its better then nothing

I haven't seen alive dinosaurs, so I guess I should doubt that dinosaurs existed, using your logic.
thats a poor rebuttal seeing how fossils actual exist. Big Bang has major problems. You can say patterns in the universe prove the Big Bang theory but I can argue nature itself can prove the evidence of a designer. Also there is an entropy problem, anyway if both are theorized then the OP shouldn't believe in either. There is no real concrete example for either. At least the others actually have good points.

lol now I'm not educated and the bible is bull crap. I wish my degree knew I wasn't educated....poor degree...Lol, for people who don't like faith pushed on them you sure push your faith in others but get defensive if someone does the same. Lol hypocrisy is the worst right? Also the flat earth comment has no barring as we don discount everything from that time just because they thought the world was flat. Research doesn't make things right, because in your own statement scientist back in ge day thought the world was flat, earth was he center of universe etc. People still get things wrong, even my professor summed up being a scientist as being wrong 99% off the time. Lol he wasn't a Christian btw. You haven't said anything but you opinion. Riker is good about actually using facts to back his statement up instead of just saying "that's bullcrap" or "its old". Again I just shared my belief with the OP. I always get antagonized here no matter what I say or how I say it but it's cool. Call it stupid but I'm a Christian and it's a religion of faith. Many things seem very illogical and it makes it hard to argue and ppl will call you uneducated. I haven't called anyone ignorant but I'm sure you would believe that is a classic Christian response as well, even if you respond in the same way.

EDIT: on the iPhone. Autocorrect and all that jazz.

Never said that they know everything. There sinply is no need for religion. The harm they did and still do to people, progress and science is the single worst sin there is. And anyone supporting and believing them just worsen the situation...

Dude, stop being such a bigoted prick. If people want to place their faith in something bigger than themselves and if this helps them in their lives in some way, shape or form without even remotely affecting you, who the hell are you to tell them its wrong?

Does anyone feel that way? Nothing in the Bible has ever been proven. No one has proven Jesus, Angles, or God's existence. Also all the teachings in the bible were probably made by some old man who was stoned on blueberrys and wrote a story to keep the local town children from being bad.

I am struggling to find a reason to believe in God if nothing is proven.
you probably have a rough childhood then, or youre poor af that cant even aford a pc or xbox or something.... anyway, just bilieve what ever you want, i mean the definition of faith is to bilieve in something youve never seen or its proven its real, but all i know is that people who really bilieve in god are right now or in the future those people who will be really successful in life, my cousin is strugling like you he bilieve in god but he wants to prove it. he end up smoking weeds, and went to meth, his jobless no friends, and all i bilieve religion has huge blow in him, he probably blaming god for everything. why dont you try doing retreat? just ask youre nearby church if they have any.. you might change your views to what faith is.

big bag was just a theory, it was scientist's / atheist way of explaining how the world begun. on religion side, it all started from gods hand, they said it was forbidden to see it with time machine coz something will happen (it was written in babilonian books) during alexander the great era.
