How did BZ evade Hagoromo when he started to influence Indra?

Flip side: how did Hagoromo not sense BZ's influence?

Hagoromo is clearly a dumb-ass. There's really no other explanation than that dude being a giant bigot. The old ass man sits his ass for decades and watches his children kill each other over and over, and then he preaches that it was wrong for him to only entrust power to one child. Then in present time after hearing Sasuke's true answer and what he wants to do, he gives him the power he needs to fulfill his wishes, only hoping that Naruto can somehow stop him in the end, literally doing nothing but watching from the sidelines again.

Imagine if Sasuke killed Naruto :lol

If Indra was so smart & gifted, why didn't he harbor any knowlage of Kaguya? Unless Hagoromo kept those things from everyone.
