[Discussion] Which High School subject?

It's been over 5 years since I left High School =D. I never thought I'd get over it, I used to stalk my high school's Facebook page day in, day out. I think now I've out grown it. I don't even want to visit anymore :snick: I can't imagine what the Reunion of class of 2010 will be like in 4 years time.

I did 9 subjects
English Home Language

AP Maths
Life Sciences/Biology
Life Orientation (fodder subject)
Information Technology(IT)

As any student I had those subjects I hated the most XD. In my case it was English and IT!!!

English:
I hated it because you could never predict your marks. It all depended on the judgement of the teacher. Secondly I hated Ms Godden!!!!! Oh my God we were never friends at all. I used to hate her because I tried my best but it was never good enough! She was like Severus Snape in High School...

IT: Java
We had the worst teacher in the world at its introduction! So I ended up lost in the entire high school period. I could never understand it since the introduction teacher messed us up! It's very ironic that I ended majoring in CS in university XD.

My favourites were AP Maths and Physics... meh

I hated math because I sucked at it and that's why I chose a profile where I studied math 2 years out of 4 in highschool.
I also hated the new subjects we studied for a single year: psychology, logical reasoning, economics. The teachers sucked, though the philosophy teacher didn't.
I loved: Romanian language and literature and the teacher, but man the homework were hard; English language always loved and always will, history, biology (mostly genetics) and French language a bit.. cause the teacher was a walking encyclopedia.
Other subjects I didn't care about: physics, chemistry, art, Latin language, geography.

I absolutely hate language subjects for similar reasons as you. There's often not an absolute answer so your marks are at the mercy of the marker. Also I hate writing too many words. Followed P.E. coz im weak as faq at that time.

Uhm, the german school-system is a lot different from stuff like "high school" etc., but I always hated math, physics, chemistry, Dutch language and religion. I disiked them so much that I often just went home early, since I thought these subjects were only a waste of time anyway.

I really enjoyed English and sports tho. Everything else was indifferent to me.

My 20 year secondary/high school reunion is in four years. I have no inclination to attend. To answer your questions:

1. I disliked most Math classes; except Geometry..that was fun. My favourite was a Sociology class I took. It really influenced me to follow into my profession. I also enjoyed Art, but my puritanical Art instructor curtailed my creativity and soured me from following it into college.
2. I had a pleasurable primary school experience, but by year eight it was unbearable. *****es be *****es; just caddishness. No matter what minute imperfections you possess children will make sport of it. After years of depression it got better toward the end.
3. I had many subjects that paid me tribute; I can't remember all their names.

So they just taught you Java straight out or did you had C and OOP before if not else those people should be gassed. If you had learned OOP you would need a lecture or sit in class to understand Java. There is this SJW shit going on teaching people to code without teaching them any underlying concepts of programming and comp.sci.

You graduated 10 years before me and I though I was old!

We're opposites, I seek crowds only to do what I call a social research...

In a proper way they should have taught you C first which covers basic programming concepts, then building data structures and then Object oriented Concepts once you done that you would not have to care whichever language that is. They did a top down thing.

In university we dnt have honors and shit, we just have 3-4 engineering subject with 3-4 labs in each Sem. It goes from basic to high level. Totally it will be around 3 dozen subjects.

Thanks. I enjoy being called old. Word and art can have mathematical logic. In Philosophy logic has a mathematical basis. Have you seen the artwork of M.C. Escher?
