I say its more so that nobody is ready to confirm anything just yet. Kawaki's words were very suggestive and so were future Boruto's words in his monologue. It is a possibility. However, I personally am not ready to say "he's definitely dead" nor am I willing to completely rule out his potential death just yet.

If they're not willing to confirm, they shouldn't be making threads about how Naruto/Sasuke are dead/are fodder/manga is ruined because Naruto is dead. I'm not referring to people who just generally think Naruto might be dead. xD
