Indra directly inherited the Sage's chakra genes. Ashura didn't. That is a solid base to disagree with the thread.

NarutoX28 said:I know people use this as a common rebuttal, "But Indra inherited Hagoromo's chakra genez" without even understanding the context of the statement. Hagoromo was clearly referring to the idea that Ashura had none of Rikudou's natural potential whereas Indra received it. This is explained here:

Hagoromo initially stated that Ashura didn't have the chakra genes whereas Indra did. Naruto's confused, so Hagoromo explains it in a better way and refers to the fact that Ashura had no potential whereas Indra did. This makes it clear that Hagoromo stated that Indra had Hagoromo's chakra genes because he inherited his potential, not because he literally had Hagoromo's chakra.
I man I see what you're saying, but I believe he had Rikudou chakra. How else would he have survive prologue use of his Mangekyo Sharingan?
Already refuted.
Sorry, but you took out your own version from the scan. Nowhere does the manga state what you said in regards to the Sage's chakra. He never inherited it.
Sorry, but I don't know what you're referring to.
I don't think I misinterpreted the scan at all. If you take it into context, Hagoromo was always talking about the brother's potential, not about how Ashura inherited nothing from Rikudou Sennin because that's simply not true.
He said only Indra inherited it. That is a different matter than potential. Whatever else he inherited is never mentioned by him.
Naruto was confused by what Hagoromo meant when he said that, so he dumbed things down and explained it in a different way. When he did, he stated that Ashura was no-good whereas Indra was excellent, signifying that he was referring to potential. The entire chapter was centered around how Ashura did not inherit his parent's potential.
Both Manga and Databook suggests that Ashura had inherited Rikudou's Yang Energy. Actually, Rikudou Sennin suggests it when Indra's Transmigrants needed Ashura's chakra to awaken his own chakra and awaken the Rinnegan.
If Indra's chakra was truly Hagoromo's, then Hagoromo should be able to use the Sharingan and actually swap between the Sharingan and Rinnegan as Madara has shown.
Your long explanations are not needed. He never inherited the chakra. The Sage outright states it. That is all there is to it.
Nope. Indra's Transmigrants needed Ashura's chakra to awaken Rikudou's chakra. Hagoromo knew this because he was aware of the fact that Ashura Transmigrants had the Yang Energy needed for Indra's Transmigrants to awaken the Rinnegan which is why he wrote the Uchiha Tablet ot make them reconsider.
Please explain why Ashura's chakra is needed to awaken Rikudou's chakra when Indra Transmigrants already has his chakra to begin with.
It still doesn't negate anything I have stated, when the manga has shown the bloodline to thin down even with the Sage, as he doesn't possess Kaguya's Sharingan. It is not far-fetched to believe that it thinned further with Indra and continued to do so through generations; something Obito talked about.
Yang energy isn't chakra. Furthermore, the sage is outright saying that, man. What's there to debate?
there's some irony to be found in the fact that OP used the Yin Release article as an attempt to support the argument that Indra didn't possess Hagoromo's chakra when it pretty much said what Hagoromo and Obito already stated.
How else could an Indra transmigrate awaken a dojutsu Hagoromo had if they didn't possess the spirit of the guy who had inherited Hagoromo's powers to begin with? lol
Databook said:Hagoromo was convinced that Indra would continue to support Ashura after he was elected as protector Ninshuu, for without the cooperation of Indra, the Ninshuu hardly endure. However there was a fire began to burn in Indra, which went unnoticed by Hagoromo. That was the perfect opportunity for some elusive dark. Such darkness -Zetsu Black- whispered heartbroken Indra and further fueled the flames, turning them hell. The Ninjutsu. That was how the "Ninshuu" was transformed into "Ninjutsu" and humanity faced in an eternal war. Indra he fell into the temptation of Zetsu Black and fervently began to hate his father and his younger brother. After rejecting the Ninshuu, and using his own talent, Indra invented the Ninjutsu. He used the Chakra as a weapon to fight with Ashura. Both swords clashed again and again, but the flames of the conflict will never be extinguished. Their souls eternally transited the Wheel of Life and each reincarnation faced the same fate. The Ninshuu, the power that connected all, became obsolete. Humanity, endowed with scattered Chakra Kaguya, brought back the chaos. And that was how the Ninjutsu turned a gun ... ↑ Hagoromo warnings are engraved on the stone monument Uchiha.
This is something Hagoromo never talked about. This is you cherrypicking Obito's statements. If you refuse to acknowledge Obito's statement about Ashura inheriting Rikudou's Yang Energy, by that same logic, you cannot claim that Indra's chakra thinned through multiple generations as this is something Hagoromo never discussed.
The Sage never inherited Kaguya's RinneSharingan because her chakra was split between both Hagoromo and Hamura.
Yin energy isn't chakra either. What's your point?
Sort of makes sense by this scan anywayBecause Indra's Spiritual Energy inherited from Rikudou grew weaker over future generations, so Indra's Spiritual Energy was so potent that he could resist the aftereffects of the Mangekyo.
What am I cherry picking? The Sage outright states that only and only Indra inherited his strong chakra. I am asking you: what's left to debate here?
She also gave birth to them after eating the fruit. The manga never even states when she did it. We only know she did it after their birth.
Which is precisely my point. What does it have to do with chakra? Nothing. The only point that can be made is that one line dealt with the material / physical realm and the other with the mental / spiritual.
Sort of makes sense by this scan anyway

Ashura didn't inherit his father's potent chakra, he gained his father's other powers.
