All Hyuga's eyes are white but when Byakugan is activated the veins sprout from their eyes. If all Hyuga's was born with Byakugan then it can't or shouldn't be able to be awakened.

plus, why would sasuke's chapter 698 sharingan deactivate right before he was uppercut by naruto but not rinnegan?

smfh nevermind went back to read it. the manga cleverly hiding his rinnegan off panel or bloodied up every ****ing scene, why is kishi such an troll? nonetheless it doesn't matter, we'll just have to wait until the anime fight is revealed. only then we'll figure it out. unless it's an error or something. It's a gift from Hagoromo for the fact that Hagoromo gave Sasuke his own chakra, but Sasuke awakened it within his body and so manifested the change within his own eyes, so it should be his, much like how his EMS is considered his own Dojutsu despite not even being his eyes.

No for a Rinnegan you need Indra's chakra to mix in with the Ashura's chakra. Hagoromo need not interfere. Rinnegan can't deactivate period, it's pretty simple.

Borrowed powers has no limitation to potential as Nagato demonstrated great use of Madara's eyes, but the reason why he wasn't able to compete was because he wasn't a transmigrant like Madara or Sasuke who had great amounts of chakra.

Himawari isn't a pure Hyuga though, her eye is most likely a derivation of the Byakugan like the Sharingan is to the Rinnegan. For all we know it grants different abilities besides insight :eww:

It cant go off just like the Byakugan, and the reason he was capable of switching from Sharingan to Rinnegan is because he was an Edo modified by Kabuto, the body and chakra restrictions were practically non-existent for him, another reason is the fact his Rinnegan weren't "real" like the one Obito possessed.
