Tbh people just bandwagon him cuz he is strong. The last time he was least bit interesting was part one and beginning of shippuden was the height of it. After fighting itachi and gaining mangekyou he became bland.
Tragedy doesnt equate to better development than another character. People just dont appreciate other characters fully because of this.
why do you care? anyways the character has depth, solid characterization through and through.read when the author decribes him, how he analyes him. think he said something about how sasuke challenges him as a writer because he is stubborn or something like that. shoes the amount of thought he puts in when developing sasuke.
I dont think he has the most depth. People love stories with tragedy. I am not one of those. I'm more on Naruto's and Rock Lee's side of things. The underdogs with something to prove. Who care about their comrades and will die protecting them.
I stopped caring for Sasuke once he stopped caring for others.
Boruto Movie Sasuke gave me a breath of fresh air. Felt like part one him again. Whats the use of being strong with nothing wirth fighting for

Well, just because you're not a Sasuke fan you can't say his character doesn't have depth. I'm not a Naruto fan but I need to admit he's a really well written character and I understand why he's so popular and has many fans. Same goes for Sasuke. You can't deny his character is well written and that he has one of the best writtings on the series.

Exact same personally. Sasuke is a cool character at times in his progression but it's annoyed me how Sasuke's real twist came within the final moments of the manga when it would've been way more interesting for all those arcs we were stuck with him for him to externalise his development. It got quite frustrating from Bee fight - Kaguya fight. An attitude problem of a character whos sexualised/glorified is the quickest way to get me to disconnect with a character.
Sasuke had interesting situations and development happen around him, much like Naruto- just bc of hardships and big themes happening to the character- doesn't necessarily equal well-written development for the character. Sasuke's character arc involves him regressing to a point we met him at like a decade ago. With little vocal exploration.

Nah, he appeals to people like me too; you know, those who actually study literature and are not silly keyboard warriors pulling stuff out of their ass. To that kind, Sasuke is one of the very few well-written characters in the trash genre called anime.
I found Sasuke to be a sympathetic and and interesting character, because his motivations made sense. Unlike Naruto, he had long term strategies that most of the things he did were working towards (whereas generally Naruto just reacts to whatever is happening in the plot). From the end of Part 1 to when Tobi starts to really take the center stage, it's Sasuke who's really driving the plot. And even though he was flawed, generally he had good dialogue for when people called him out about his actions:

However, right after this, this happened:

And he sort of turned into a crazy person for a while. To me, he stopped being sympathetic and interesting, and his development started to take wild turns. I really thought the Hokage stuff was contrived just to give him a reason to fight Naruto. Essentially, Kishimoto was willing to let Sasuke do his own thing to develop him up until towards the end of the manga, when he realized the manga was called Naruto and so he restricted Sasuke's development in order to make Naruto more central.
Because Sasuke is an interesting character. There will always be a most popular character of any manga series just because you don't agree that he shouldn't have so many fans doesn't mean he flat out shouldn't. Sasuke has incredible potential, every time he's shown he has interesting combat potential, he's strong, smart, and although he was evil he had an interesting dynamic at that, in fact Sasuke is so popular people talk more about Sasuke than their own fave and you're no exception . He's the brother of one of the best written characters in the manga and his potential leaves people in awe, he isn't bland. One of the many complaints about multiple naruto movies is that there wasn't enough Sasuke. Until the Boruto movie, overall he's pretty much an interesting character.

he put his goal of killing his brother above anything and anyone else, he followed his path and it was left for the others to respect his decision rather than chase him all over
well we are different because i have a strong distaste for characters who shove comradeship and friendship down our throats because they say the same shit over and over and are very boring and bland hence why naruto is not my cup of tea.

Believe it or not, there are people that like to dig deep and analyse a character. I like Sasuke, coz's he's blunt and doesn't give a crap about girls.
The way you implied people like Sasuke because he's a deep character and then listed only two superficial reasons for liking him is just extremely funny to me.
