I think Naruto is truely underappreciated...and he's a lowkey genius...mastered Rasengan in 1 week...Rasenshuriken in a couple days...Sage Mode in a couple days...and underrated in the heat of battle planning.

If Kishi (or any comic book artist) wanted his audience to see Naruto activate SM while running, he would've showed it happening on panel
