EDIT: But for real, the punches are useful in close combat, Tsunade proves this constantly. Sakura just has to be animated well enough or given an actual good fight with another taijutsu user (not Ino)which Kishi knows not to do bc she'll punch their brains out. Good point tho

Exactly, the bold is so true. A single direct hit would crush almost everyone bar the best tankers of the series. And her AoE also does damage. So yea, of course "it's useful in a fight". Sakura is way faster and more powerful than Hinata, no one is shutting any network, she will get 1 shot blitzed, as simple as that. 1 is Kage level, the other is barely Chuunin, and here I thought you were trolling, I can't believe you need someone to spell this out for you.
