Elijah makes his way to the training field, where a young Shikamaru would be waiting for him. He would plan to train him in the way of the sword, one of the skills that was quite easy to learn but could be vital in a battle as well. Elijah wore a dark suit, and carried a small suitcase with, which contained scrolls. He had a small basic sword, and a tanto, a short sword on his back, strapped with a black rope.
"Hello Shikamaru, I am Elijah Ganmi and I will be training you in Kenjutsu. Now, tell me. What do you know about Kenjutsu? Who are notable Kenjutsu users? And how do you plan on incorporating Kenjutsu into your fighting style?"

shikamaru see his sensei enter the training ground.
''Yo elijah sensei and yeah I will be learning kenjutsu from you.''
Kenjutsu is the art of sword fighting. Its a fighting style that use sword as the main weapon and with the use of chakra it can be used with ninjutsu. some notable kenjutsu user are bee , suigetsu, kisame and there are seven swordman of the mist. well I would like to learn kenjutsu first to see how I can use it to fit my fighting style.

Elijah listened to his student, and simply nodded his head in agreement as he spoke.
"Not bad, remember that the Samurai are actually some of the best users of Kenjutsu around, as they are able to stand on par with Shinobi using only a sword. Anyway, unlike elemental training, Kenjutsu requires very little theoretical aspects, but rather a more practical take."
Elijah says, as he throws a sword towards Shikamaru, after taking it off from his back. This would be the sword that he would use through out the training session.
"You'll be using that sword. Now, like my friend Dean, my method is similar. I will explain the technique to you, then I want you to perform it with exquisite detail, against a clone of mine. You will then give me at least two advantages and disadvantages of the technique, and how you would use it in battle. So if you're ready, we may begin.."
Elijah says, as he cracks his knuckles.
"Alright, now the first technique starts off by running towards your opponent, with your sword in hand, your dominant hand, that is. As you get close to the opponent, you will deliver a sequence of slashes. These slashes can be horizontal, vertical etc. It allows some freedom here, and also allows you to slash anywhere on the opponent, since it doesn't specify. Anyway, after doing so, you will finish off the technique, by delivering a final slash, and dealing liberal damage to the opponent. Pretty simple, huh? Use it against my clone."
Elijah says, as he creates a clone that runs towards Shikamaru.

shikamaru take the sword then start running towards the clone then when he close enough he using his right hand he slashes horizontally from right to left into the clone body then follow by another slash vertically from up to down then he slash horizontally from left to right and finally a strong slash into the clone throat.
''advantage of this tech is I could deliver slashes in one move making it difficult to defend and I can deliver many slashes before deliver the final blow making it dificult to react from it.
disadvantage of this tech is it quite straightforward so it can easily to defend from it. so in battle I would distract my opponent before run towards him.''

"Okay, now the next technique requires you to run towards the opponent and deliver several punches, once you are close enough. These can be aimed anywhere, preferably the face so you disorient the opponent. When the opponent is staggered, you will deliver two quick slashes with your sword, in order to finish them off. These slashes can also be aimed anywhere, whether its a vital spot or not, depends on how you want to deal with this opponent. Use it against my clone."

shikamaru run towards the clone then as he reach the clone shikamaru use his left hand hand to puch the clone in the stomach then another puch in the face then he proced to slash to the stomach from the right finally another slash into the throat.
''advantage of this tech is I can distract my opponent first with punches then proceed with slash and if I puch into the opponent face it could disoriented them leaving them vulnerable to slash. disadvantage of this tech is I need to throw my punch first before slash and they can easily dodge it when they see me coming.
this tech is pretty straightforward so I need a little distraction and I would deliver the punches on vital spot like face or stomach.''

This allows you to hit the opponent several times as you spin, making it pretty effective but also allows you to use it against groups of enemies, like cloens trying to encircle you. Use it against my two clones."

shikamaru take the tanto ''hurm... I dont really like short weapon so can this tech be performed with normal sword?''
shikamaru run towards the clone with the tanto in his hand as he about to reach the clone he stretch his right arm and start to spin from right to left deliver 3 quick slashes in the clone body the spin would also slash another clone that was about to attack him from behind making both clone disperse.
''advantage of this tech is the user can spin his whole body rapidly making the cutting power stronger while deliver a few slash and the spin would cover all direction making it easier to slash more than one enemy at once.
disadvantage of this tech pretty straightforward so the enemy can predict the user movement also the user has to spin so the user will be a little unprepared if the enemy counter it with another jutsu
in battle this tech would be really usefull if I facing more than one opponent in close range because I can slash them down with just one move.
sensei I have question
these slashes in one move if the enemy didnt counter the first slashes that would cancel the tech will they be able to response to other upcoming slashes with just a simple freeform kenjutsu? also all of these tech require me to run towards opponent so what if the opponent already close to me and doesnt require me to run towards them so can I still use the tech without running?''

"Good, and for your questions. First one, it can be used with a normal sword, the technique just states that a Tanto is used, so I always incorporate it in. Second question, Kenjutsu and Taijutsu are more free, and can be countered with more freedom, if the first slash somehow does land, the opponent can still have a chance to react, depending on speed, and what not. But yes, its not a done deal if you land one blow, that the others would land. Last question, I just add the running to make it a bit more dynamic in terms of performing, and overall role play. You can use some of the techniques without running, others with it. I'll explicitly state when you have to run. The thing about Kenjutsu and Taijutsu is that its more, movement based than the normal Ninjutsu, so it would only be practical to add some movement, instead of just standing there, and performing a technique, no? Here is the technique you just learned."
"Now, the last C rank technique. It requires you to be above the opponent, to come down upon him. So its best performed with a jump, from a higher surface etc. You will run (or if you don't want to, not) towards the opponent, and initiate a jump, whilst holding your sword in your dominant hand. shikamaru run towards the clone as he about to reach the clone shikmaru jump into the air then as he coming down he strech his right arm and point the sword downwards while aiming for the clone chest. as he come down with his sword would impale the clone chest making it disperse.
''advantage of this tech is the user can evade an attack by jumping then continue with a stab and it only take stab on vital area to bring the opponent down.
disadvantage of this tech is when the user is ascending down he would be highly vulnerable to an attack.
in battle I would use it as a suprise attack from higher ground makinh the opponent difficult to react. ''

Whilst the opponent is airborne, dash directly forwards (to the location they're about to land) and intercept them as they fall, punching them violently into a nearby obstacle, or like, part of the terrain which can include but is not limited to, trees, boulders, etc. Use it against my clone."

shikamaru run towards towards the clone as he reach the clone he thrust his sword handle into the clone stomach then he deliver a punch into the clone face then follow by a kick in the clone stomach sending the clone flying backwards. as the clone in the air shikamaru quickly dash towards the clone landing spot and when the clone about to land shikamaru deliver a strong puch that sending the clone backwards hitting the tree behind him.
''advantage of this tech is the user hit the opponent with sword handle making the opponent stagger leaving him open for follow up and the user last move would send the opponent hitting nearby obstacle if the obstacle something sharp it could prove deadly.
disadvantage of this tech is if the opponent can somehow counter the user first move it would leave the user defenseless.
in battle I would use this tech the opponent distracted if the first move hit it would leave the opponent defenseless. ''

shikamaru focuses his chakra on the right arm and channel it into his sword while running towards the clone as he reach the clone he swing his sword upward slashing the clone body sending it flying in mid air shikamaru then quickly jump above the clone he then deliver a drilling slash into the clone body sending the clone slamming into the ground.
''advantage of this tech is I can pin down my opponent into the ground restricting his movement and this tech can deliver a fatal wound.
disvantage cant think of any cause the tech is pretty fast >_>
in battle attack with other tech first to get close then deliver the slash upwards. ''

shikamaru focuses his chakra on his right hand then channel it into his sword. after that he swing the sword in the crescent moon form releasing a red wave of chakra that head towards the clone then hitting it.

disadvantage of this tech is it can be counter rather easily.
this tech doesnt deal much damage so I would use it as distraction before proceed with other tech.
sensei if I use in close range does that mean I will deal slash from my sword also from the wave at the same time making a greater damage?''

"Very good, and its Mid range. The technique would just cause normal damage, as the technique states. Depends on where you strike ultimately. The damage will be equal to B rank, 40 damage but it'd possibly be more deadly overall. Anyway, here you go."
