A transgender woman who was sent to an male prison has lost her appeal against her three-month jail sentence.

Tara Hudson, 26, from Bath, was jailed and placed at HMP Bristol for 12 weeks after admitting assault. Her situation prompted a nationwide campaign – backed by thousands of supporters – and has gathered serious media momentum.During the appeal at Bristol Crown Court, the judge asked for consideration to be made by the court and prison service to where she will serve her sentence.

The Recorder of Bristol, Llewelyn Sellick, said Hudson had a ‘worrying criminal record’ which contained numerous offences. He added: “It is for the prison service and not the court to establish where a sentence should be served.”
More than a staggering 140,000 people have signed petitions asking her to be move to an all female prison, with supporters claiming she is in danger of sexual violence.

Hudson has had reconstructive surgery and has lived as a woman her whole adult life, but is still legally considered a man. The make-up artist was jailed last Friday after admitting to head-butting a barman in Bath, damaging his teeth, and magistrates said the assault – which came three weeks after she had been given a conditional discharge- was so serious that only custody could be justified.

She was sent to HMP Bristol, which holds around 600 men.

Sort of does, usually if the person has their initial genitals they get place in that ***'s prison......

Still think a prison for transgender should be made or at least a wing for them.....oh well

That's not nice! They are also human. Transgender Females should be placed in Female Prison, because she will get raped noe they send her to men Prison...

the two issues i have with what transgender people believe they are owed.

1. apparently its believed that transgender people have the right to withhold that they were born male, female..they can date you and decide to tell you once its serious, or they can decide to never tell you, and apparently there is no recourse if something like that were to happen to you, i believe that's something that can leave a psychological mark on a person, but you'll just be called a bigot if you say something lol..lgbt needs to realize not everything is bigotry, some people honestly are repelled by trans people or gay people and they dont even know why thats why it feels unnatural to them, I bet if they explained they just wanna be left alone and be equals, instead of calling them a bigot, they would have one less bigot lol.

2. second one is that males or females can enter the opposite ***'s bathrooms/lockerooms ect..without other peoples knowledge that they are there..we cant even tell if someones a trans these days. I dont mind them choosing what they want for them selves, I wont violate there privacy but I also dont think we should be heading towards the direction of violating the privacy of others in order to satisfy one group of people, whom have been using their birth sexes respective bathrooms/lockerooms, from their births till when ever they decided to change.

Does she still have a D? Either way the woman/man is in danger; they even rape males, so she definitely needs to be got out of there. I ak cause then they will worry about tranies assulting females in female prisons.

god thats a scary thought if i had *** with a trans it would leave me no option but to kill myself or i wouldnt even recover from that.

Point 1 is sinister imo. To keep such a secret to the other person in the relationship is wrong, almost like having *** with someone while knowing you have some STD.....
