Assuming her absorbing power is an otsutsuki thing, does that make it weaker? I don't think so.

The reason why the technique worked could be one of two things, plot no jutsu or the properties of the technique prevented her from absorbing the attack making it likely madara can't absorb it either.

1. He definitely has shinrs tensei its a part of the six paths technique.

2.i didn't say her absorbing was weaker, just not a part of rinnegan

But regardless, it should still work. For some reason I forgot the entire point; that the mixture of bijuu chakras would overtake his body just like hers.

But when naruto did it to her he didn't know it would happen do I guess madara just got lucky.

Because the fight didn't go long enough. The fight basically ended once Sasuke cut him in half. Nothing else happened once he returned from the kamui world besides chibaku tensei and naruto and Sasuke stopping it.
