What chapter was it when you joined?

I joined sometime between chapter 554-557

Just checked... In August 2012( the best time to join as Minatoxx has specified)
in anime was during when Hanzo faced Mifune pure epicness! Also the Gedo Mazo attacked the Shinobi Alliance during that time. In the manga its where Tobi's space ninjutsu was figured out and we found towards the end of that month that Tobi was not Madara Uchiha but actually Obito.

Now tell me if that wasn't the best time ever to join this place as people were thrown into chaos getting into pure disbelief as their theories that Tobi was Izuna or Shisui haha...

Nope madara being revived was better than all of that.

Actually, the best time to have joined would have been anytime in 2011. You see, around the time of Obito's reveal the base was in chaos yes, however that was responsive chaos to the reveal. Over the year prior, the theories that would steadily be pumped out on a weekly basis were so rich with imagination and creativity that the base was a fun community to be apart of. Once Obito was revealed the base went to shit, as haters got dull and left, and everyone else just rubbed it in everyone's faces. Not only that, but Obito's identity was the single greatest mystery in this manga's history. By the time his identity was revealed, there were no further theories like there used to be.

I sincerely miss being apart of such a living and caring community like there was back in 2010/2011. Ever since Obito's reveal, I've never been able to find that "spark" in the community that I used to. From the moment Obito was revealed, to the moment the manga officially ended, I have only felt that the base became nothing more than a platform to read the manga every Thursday / Wednesday.

A matter of different opinion, but as a member who was here on both occasions where Tobi's real identity was discovered and when the real Madara was revived I'm inclined to say the base was shook up more by Tobi's identity compared to your counter argument.

Its because there were a lot of theories about Tobi's identity ever since he first appeared in Shipuuden so when it was revealed some went mental when their theories were wrong..

What I don't get is why was there such a confusion about Tobi being Obito? Izuna wouldn't have made any sense. Here are a few examples.

I'm guessing you didn't like the fact Tobi was Obito. Either way I should point out that you felt that way because most of your friends left the base. I can understand that because when manga ended last year in chapter 700 most of my friends as well left the base and felt as if the site was a sinking boat. Furthermore what fueled those thoughts was the closure of registrations for new members.

Now my point is just because you felt that way it doesn't mean the site stopped being what you described on your second paragraph. For example you say there was nothing worth to theorize about after Tobi's reveal. But here is ONE example; I remember when Sasuke wanted to go and see the ones who know everything. A lot of people speculated and created a lot of threads arguing where Sasuke and co might be going... And I have to tell you, those threads were really fun to read.

Believe what you want, madara being revived and destroying everyone was better plus it was entertaining. I personally don't believe there was a so called best time to join.
