Okay I read all the posts before responding, 'cause I wanted to see if sense was bein' made here. Drake did no kill Meek. Even the ones on his side are sayin' he purposely went soft. Personally I find the antics cowardly. What antics? well:
Pretendin' you just playin' so that when somebody say you corny, your fans can say "Nah, he wasn't serious. He go in..."
Actin' like an emcee wit' less fans isn't worth your best because you know you can win a fan war.
Puttin' out a diss track and then claimin' that it's just a warning shot.
...just to name a few.
I'll give props where it's due. Without the antics, Drake is nice (noice, even). But that doesn't earn him the right to fall back on antics and let his fans win his battles for him. And I know; he's not the only one that does it. It's weak and cowardly when anybody does it. I'm a rapper, and I don't believe in gettin' wins on credit. Kiss tried that wit' Beans, but it backfired 'cause Beans just went full bungee on 'im and no amount of fans could obscure that fact. If he could do it all over agin, he prolly woulda went 100 from da rip, too. That said, the track wasn't corny, but it wasn't a burn, eitha. And let me just say, from personal experience, that there's a lot of emcees out there spittin' barz that they didn't come up wit'. At least QM got paid. I hear my rhymes on platinum albums and all I can do is shake my head because I was foolish enough to post them in Yahoo groups. Just sayin'
