Rasengan. With Chidori is seems like you can only attack in a straight line, which is wack.

But I'd prefer Fireball Jutsu over both for a beginning tech.

Rasengan, you need a doujutsu that can read your target's movements or be a sensor to use chidori fully. With Rasengan I don't need hand signs, learning it will give me high level of chakra control which I can use to learn other jutsus.

Chidori is more practical and versatile. Rasengan is just OK. BTW, someone who can have Chidori can have Rasengan as well. Can't say the opposite though.

And that sonic screech is probably only due to collision on impact which Naruto did first time (dangerous for himself) which otherwise won't happen. Rasenshuriken instantly expands now so it doesn't retain its cool sound.

if you were fighting a friend,you can power down the rasengan to not kill them...even tho i like chidori i cant say you can do the same for it.

when was the last time a regular rasengan killed some1? jirayas rasengan didnt kill that fodder when he first showed rasengan. naruto didnt kill kabuto. and theres a shit ton of filler chars getting hit by rasengan and not killed.

as some1 else said, it sounds like birds not lighting and the moment you hear it its already too late. it isnt exactely stealthy but neither is the rasengan. also it doesnt make that huge ass explosion sound once it penetrates some1 while the rasengan does....

l2read nubcake. Pain, itachi medium died, kabuto would have too if not for HEALING BEFORE IT HIT. Rasengan is far stronger than chidori, naruto choose not to kill.

Rasenshuriken is not a natural evolution of Rasengan. It's the addition of wind element. Anybody who doesn't have Fuuton can't create Rasenshuriken. Chidori spear is a variant of Chidori, you can't compare something like that to Rasenshuriken.
