And Naruto main goal was to scatch Sasuke head-band to prove his strength and he did.
Wrong.

That wasn't his main goal, he just wanted to prove sasuke wrong that's all, it's like that he won a bet.

he obviously failed at bringing sasuke back while sasuke decided not to kill him out of a whim that's all.

Sasuke won that battle.

Considering I personally don't consider the academy, orochimaru hideout, & samurai bridge scenes, "Fights" Especially the former since it was a sparing session. I go buy the Actual three fights Hospital rooftop, Vote1 & Vote2. You know these are real fights considering the Manga chapters for those fights are actually Titled "Naruto Vs Sasuke"

Rooftop battle - Their fight was interrupted by Kakashi. So it was a tie.

VOTE1 - Sasuke succeeded leaving Konoha & his friends behind to get training from Orochimaru. Naruto failed to bring his friend home like he promised Sakura. Victor: Sasuke

VOTE2 - Sasuke with Killing intent, so close to achieving Indra's dream which was using Power to create Peace.
Declared Revolution & Only had Naruto left in his way.
He couldn't get Naruto serious until Obtaining the chakra from all nine bijuu, both of their strongest attacks stalemated on they were sent flying down. They fought on the ground for a little while. Exhausted of chakra, until the kyuubi mustered enough chakra for the both of them. Final clash occurred. Sasuke wakes up, talks to Naruto, they both sleep again. They wake up once more. Sasuke has visibly changed, & thinks to himself how Naruto was his true best friend, blah blah blah other stuff. That Itachi.
Long story short. Naruto gets his friend back, Sasuke said "I lost". Victor: Naruto

So officially it should be 1-0-1

And Sasuke in a nuttshell didn't achieve his goal, that's Kill Naruto to awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan as said by Itachi. So the end it was 50-50

Some of the results feels a little forced to be honest XD

1)Battle at the academy: nothing to say.

2) Hospital's battle: yes, Naruto's rasengan was clearly stronger than Sasuke's chidori at that time, but that doesn't change the fact that Kakashi interrupted the fight..so draw,

3) VOTE 1: I believe it is one of the biggest Sasuke moments in the manga, choosing to NOT kill Naruto, to refuse Itachi's path.
Saying that it is a draw because Sasuke failed to kill Naruto, is a little biased ^_^

4) Orochimaru's hideout: Clearly Sasuke's win.

5) Bridge's battle: I don't even consider it a fight, more of a skirmish, but, if it is a battle, it is a draw.

6) VOTE 2: Battle-wise, Naruto and Sasuke tied; in terms of a moral fight, it is a victory for Naruto, though.

So, it would be a 3-3[2]-0[1](if you consider the last battle only physically or morally) in Sasuke's favor, but, is it really that important? One of the big themes of the series was Naruto trying to reach Sasuke, so it is obvious that the Uchiha as a better record.

Imho, Sasuke and Naruto ended the series as equals, and eternal friends/rivals:x3:

No you are looking at it from a wrong prospective. Sasuke goal was to leave Konoha that point, However his main goal was to get stronger and kill Itachi. Hence is intention of Killing Naruto to awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan. But he decided to do it his own way and didn't kill Naruto so in a nutt-shell he failed on that quest. While Naruto wanted to bring back Sasuke to Konoha, he realised Sasuke hatred was overwhelming. So he felt he needed to shoulder Sasuke hatred and save him.

Most sense made in this thread. I pretty much tend to ignore morals in versus situations. As that has no bearing on who is stronger. The physical battle does though and Sasuke has never lost to Naruto. MangaFact.

You ignore morals in Vs when a fight has no morals, Such as a simple 1v1 fight to the death which has no meaning behind it.

Sasuke/Naruto's battle was slightly different from a standard 1v1 since they both has things to achieve by winning/losing the battle. In the end sasuke failed to achieve what he wanted in the battle, Naruto succeeded in what he wanted to do.

Even though they tied physically naruto actually achieving his goal in the battle and sasuke failing makes naruto the overall winner.

Naruto won vote 1 and vote 2. Since he achieved the goal. Sasuke said he wont able to scratch his forehead and yet Naruto did. Vote2, naruto did bring Sasuke back from darkness.
But i guess sauce fan is too embarrassed to admitt it.

His intention wasn't to kill Naruto, .
If it was his intention, he would have done it because it's not in his character to think twice on something.

How did Naruto achieved his goals in vote1, though? He wanted to bring Sasuke back to Konoha, and failed. Scratching Sasuke's forehead is more of a symbolic gesture of what had happEned earlier, aka Sasuke accepting Naruto, imho.
