[Discussion] HxH hunter Ep 1-25

Now that i still have the whole arc fresh in my head i'ma say all the things about this anime that i did like.

The plot progression in this anime is really fantastic. It doesn't take AGES, like other animes, to get to the point where everything is more interesting.

The animation is good for it's release.

The main characters and supporting characters are great and well developed. Let me start off with Gon, he might be your typical knucklehead of every shounen but in my opinion, he's one of the best shounen mc that I've ever seen. Kurapika is a badass and likable. Leorio reminded me of Jiraya, good times. Killua is my favorite character so far because he's not hesitant to kill a person; and he actually like the MC and he consider Gon a friend (Learn sasuke please). Hisoka reminded me orochimaru, in a good way. He's actually a villain (i consider him a villain at this point) and hopefully he doesn't turn to be like *cough* kaguya *cough*.

The soundtrack is the strongest point of this anime which i'm loving. I really don't watch the openings nor the endings of many animes that i watch because the art is simply boring or the song is just crap. It reminded me of the parasyte's opening which i freaking love.

Enjoyment; so far i'm having a good time and i haven't felt like this since i watched higurashi, which is my favorite anime of all time. If HxH keep having a good pace like this i guess that HxH might get into my top 5 animes of all time. I see a good future in this.

Now onto the york arc, which a lot of people really love! I hope it's good!

Yeah it's pretty good, I like every arc actually. It's one of those series that actually gets better each arc.

Favorite would probably be Greed Island though people hate.

Good to know that you liked it man, and gon will surprise alot you btw, He's one of the few shonuen manga MCs who are actually very strategical while fighting. And yeah, just wait till york-new arc, you gon' ride the hype train right after that.

I was so ****ing hyped when he took off the insignia , but yeah he got his ass handed to him which is pretty good if you ask me, He ain't overpowered like some other MCs. You said you're in episode 25? A short arc will be coming which is about a fighting tournament that I think you'll enjoy.

The next arc is great as well, new elements are introduced to the characters about being a hunter and they join this cool tournament.

I don't know what exact episode but it's after the York new arc I believe but you'll see.....Yeah they are crazy, you'll learn more about them and why they ride killua.

I'm glad you're liking it though, one of the best shounen for sure.

Wait a bit more in Yorknew you'll see some amazing character development for Kurapika.
And in chimera mindblowing character development of Gon and Killua.

I just finished york arc and man, i loved it! The fights! That gon was beast last episode :bdpf: Killua best character of the anime ! My fav =P

They kept the same opening but they changed the ending

Yorknew starts at episode 37 though, I think you mean Heavens Arena arc . Well, you're breezing through the HxH episodes, huh? XD The yorknew arc (starts at episode 37) is better than the Heavens arena arc. Another question, so are you going to keep making progress threads or keep postings your thoughts on the series in this thread?

Yeah the opening song never changes and tbh I like the opening song Opening 6 had the best visuals (I recommend not searching it up since it has a lot of spoilers , well no sh*t xD)

I don't see how telling him the arc titles is much of a spoiler, especially upcoming ones. There's only one arc title that contains spoilers but the rest is fine.

Kurapika seems OP, i don't like that. Gon and Killua are looking like fodders compared to him. Not liking that. The soundtrack were fine. The fights were okey. I think the last arc was better than this because we actually see the main characters train and get a power up but in this arc they were just standing there to be saved.

The phantom troupe members are awesome.

My rankings from the best to not the best;

Pakunoda > Nobunaga > The boss > Hisoka -> Feitan > Shizuku > Machi > Shalnark > Kortopi > Phinks > Franklin > B/v.

The last episode when Pakunoda dies.. i can't handle these feels! Best girl!

This is my first time seeing someone like Heavens arena over YorkNew. It's cool though, we're all entitled to our own opinions. Yeah, get used to Gon/Killua not being the main stars of an arc. It was more of Kurapika's arc because of his personal hate against the spiders.

1. Great taste.

2. He kinda is but only in this arc, his powers work too effectively against the troupe and on his chain jail he has imposed a limitation onto this chain, so that it can only be used to deal with members of the Phantom Troupe, which is consistent with the covenants of nen. Also till the time you finish the series you'll see others reaching his level and many many more powerful.

3.a Not really soon in HxH you'll find that Gon and Killua aren't the strongest, they have immense potential but not in any way strongest or top tier.
b. They just learnt nen so it will take some time to master it. Nobunaga wanting them to join was itself a feat.
c. There will be a huge training arc soon.
d. Togashi has employed a exposition approach in HxH so focus shifts from Gon and Killua especially in the latest DC arc.

Enjoy next arc is good but CA arc was the pinnacle for me.

That's not the problem. The problem is that somehow kurapika became too OP with those chains and gon/killua looked like sakura from naruto. In the exam arc which is not too long, kurapika feared killua to the point he wanted to avoid fighting the guy, now killua just like a fodder or a damsel in distress. I understand gon not to be powerful but killua? What happened to all these years training as an assassin? Hopefully next arc they train to gain new abilities or strengths because the phantom group are not looking for trouble as seem as the last episode of this arc. So they do have time while they're searching for gon's father.

Overall the anime went from 10 to 9.
