This came to me while I was staring out of my window, we all have our own subjective experiences but beyond that is a reality independed of the filters that create our perspective of things. In the world we all have our hopes and dreams but all that is a resistance to what the world actually is, the root of that resistance being fear. In our obsession to see it how we want to we become blind to the truth. This blindness is a result of our desires that make us delusional, it makes us vulnerable to manipulation and is the source of our confusion and suffering. However we would all find true happiness if we come to accept the world exactly how it is without coloring it how we want to see it. The reason for this is we would finally obtain the peace of mind that comes with acceptance and understanding. This would create less fear and we would be less prone to negative emotions.

Accepting things, especially the negative ones would limit our potential and thus making us no different from the less intelligent species aka animals and such. A little bit of delusion is needed in order for us to evolve and if accepting the truth is really the "right" thing to do, then killing is only natrual and actually a positive thing.

That is not necessarily true. We can accept that something is negative in the present, and try to improve upon it.

It's generally easy for me to change a negative situation/feeling into a positive one. That usually happens when I keep my mind in the present and not in the past or future. But the one thing that drags me back into that abyss of negativity is the fact I am a paycheck slave required to do something against my will 40+ hours a week, 40+ years long. I could deal with reality outside work but that robotic routine is what kills my positivity. Oh well. I guess I should stop whining and symbolically produce more milk and meat as a productive paycheck slave.

Accepting things would imply that you either think that it's going to keep happening no matter what and 2-that you can't do anything about it for now............which pretty much shows our weakness if you ask me. There are many ways to make something improve, It doesn't have to necessarily be physical. You can change stuff by thinking that it can change which means that you aren't satisfied with the thing wether you decide to physically change it or not even the attempt of doing so can be considered "escaping reality". Being too optimistic itself means that you don't like reality to some degree which can even be 1%.

Morals are manmade and will therefore always be flawed. We convince ourselves we're of more value than say; animals when in reality death makes no such discriminations, it's the ultimate equalizer of all life. Our morality is only limited to ourselves but the truth is just by living you have killed others whether directly or indirectly. That's how intimate life and death are, you walk on the sidewalk, killing a bunch of ants and never give it a second thought, you eat a hamburger not caring that an animal had to die to satisfy your appetite but all of a sudden it's wrong when another human being gets killed. That kind of seletive morality can only exist in a society where we live in an illusion, infact it only exist as a social narrative so humans can live together in harmony. It has nothing to do whatsoever with whether it's legitimately right or wrong because all events are ultimately neutral.

I give myself 5-10 years before this post is me. For now, I'm a bit of a pessimist.

What's the alternative? Staying where you at and continue slaving away at a soul-crushing job?
It comes down to a simple question: do you value your time and freedom or not?
I personally do, that's why one of my goals is to make millions and retire young.

Morals are man-made indeed, But you have to admit that our morals has changed and even shifted this so called reality way to many times. Delusion is needed in order to evolve, world wouldn't become better without our own prospective on it. How do I say this??? We simply made this reality which you speak of, It's not something that is out of our reach.it's selective indeed but if I was part of it's creation initially or not I still was therefore I have the right to speak about the reality that we all share in my own perspective. Death isn't the ultimate equalizer, and if it is then, someone who had better death than someone else who thought that the person who had the better death had a better would be considered less valuable as a human being.

Hope that the last part made sense :lol

I don't know how old you are but that comment was quite misplaced. Sure, fear of having nothing to eat or a place to sleep will keep you on the hamsterwheel. But I doubt that's the kind of fear you're talking about. I am not interested nor do I have a legitimate business plan, let alone the finances for it to kickstart my own business. And even if I did, I know successfull business people, some close friends, who still have to work fulltime to manage their company well. And the annual taxes of around 20.000+ euros don't help much. Don't forget to take into account you have no idea as to how my financial situation is and has been.

Starting your own business is just taking a step higher on the ladder of the Babylon game.

Anywho, I was a supervisor at this company supervising around 50 people and they all knew me as the positive, social one who smiled and offered drinks to the ones that talked sh1t behind my back because they wanted my position. Don't get me wrong, I do radiate positivity at work. My previous post just reveils what I think deep down.

Make sure you never lose focus.

Good for you, doesn't change that your chances of failing are far higher than your chances of succeeding. Ironic that you're going "Man it's gonna just work out, just do it, don't be scared" in a thread about being realistic. You want realistic? Go for it. You may succeed, but your chances of failing are even higher. There are thousands if not millions of people who will be doing the same thing as you. In the far more likely case that you fail, there's a high chance you can end up even worse than you are now, you may end up with no money on the streets.

I'm not saying you can't or shouldn't try. But don't pretend your road has one destination either. It's got nothing to do with how much I value my freedom and time, it's everything to do with knowing that your chances of failing are higher.

Deep down you're not happy as expressed in your last post and in this post you did nothing but excuse making. If anyone should make excuses it shouldn't be you but the people trying to keep you down but it's your life, do what you want.

I'm being realistic about the pros and cons of doing 9-5 or starting a business.
If you don't like something and don't try to change it you're the one being unrealistic.

It's obvious you're missing a few cons there. You're just looking at "I could end up a millionaire and retired vs middle class-poor and working for my whole life" instead of also looking at "I could end up a failure, broke and homeless vs I could have a steady job with a source of income." You can't ignore the road or the other destinations just because you're gaze is one particular destination.

You say it like you'll be happier homeless and broke than with a job and an income.

It'd be excuse making if I wasn't trying at all.
And I am happy with myself as a person. I am unhappy with the system. The prison planet.

Anywho, I studied marketing/business economics for 2 years and you need not only a good set up for your own company, but also the right..how to say this in english..customer group? I have some ideas but that's something I'll look at in my early 30's.

I'm well aware of the risk associated with starting your own business, freedom comes with personal responsibility because you're trying to be independent.

It'd be excuse making if I wasn't trying at all.

Carefull with that sharp judgment.
From your post it sounded like your job was the main source of your unhappiness and not even that but that you're stuck it with for the next 40 years, I suggested what you could potentially do about your situation. You can blame the system but it's not likely it's going to change in our lifetime. You shouldn't worry about what you can't control, think about what you can.
