On your first point, maybe.
On your second point, it's irrelevant. You'd be restricting Indra's descendants of their greatest powers so they can be under Ashura's descendants.

indra did. aside from hashirama and tobirama all the others are fodder. naruto is fodder without ninetails, the entire uzumaki clan was fodder, and tsunade. meanwhile excluding madara and izuna you got sasuke, itachi, shisui, kagami, the hyuga and whoever else

Thread is about stronger offsprings, Indra's line used their brain and seeked an additional power source to get even stronger. This doesn't turn them into Senju, but users of the power of Senju.

They are all descendents of Rikudou who is Senju + Uchiha.
Madara Uchiha = Ashura + Indra.
Do you want me to provide you manga scans for Madara being Ashura + Indra? All the Chakra comes from the juubi, Juubi's jinchuriki = Ashura + Indra.. do you need scans for that also?
Madara uchiha/Obito Uchiha are Ashura + Indra.. they are above those 2. I thought this is a debate about the power of their lineage and which lineage produced the strongest shinobi. Not which lineage combined the 2 and gained a superior power.
It was the combination of Indra and Ashura's that resulted in shinobi being superior to those who are solely of Ashura's lineage.
