Is anyone else here a fan of the Hobbit and Lord of the rings? I just saw the last Hobbit movie, it was amazing and I balled my eyes out and Thranduil :flowers I LOVE Thranduil :yayy: anyway, which do you prefer, LOTR or Hobbit, who is your fav character, mine is obvious, Thranduil and Gandalf, what was your favourite part of the movies?

Lord of the rings by a long shot

My favorite from the hobbit are Thrandull and bilbo, bilbo is freaking hilarious and he's a relatable character.

I don't really prefer one over the other, I like all of the movies equally to be honest. I like Thranduil and Gandalf too, though my favourite is Legolas.

My favourite part in Fellowship was when Boromir sacrificed himself for Frodo and Sam to escape the Orcs (were they Uruk-Hai?). I don't really remember Two Towers, so I don't have a favourite moment. My favourite moment in Return of the King was probably when Frodo left with the elves to sail for the Undying Lands. That was quite bittersweet.

As for the Hobbit films...my favourite parts were with Thranduil and Legolas I suppose.

I will not pick one of the trilogies over the other one, cuz I see them as one whole story. . . which of course I really enjoyed.

Favorite characters - Boromir, Faramir, Gimli, Gloin, Legolas, Thranduil

Favorite scenes - from "The Lord of the Rings" would be all the scenes whit Aragon, Legolas and Gimli. . . running, fighting. . . running again, fighting again. . . :yeah:

From "The Hobbit" it's the clash of the Dwarven/Elven armies with the Orks', under the Lonely Mountain.

I thought they did a good job extending the movie but they made one blinding mistake, in Battle of five armies when Legolas tells Thranduil he can't go back he tells him to seek out Strider in the North but at the beginning of an Unexpected journey it says it was sixty years before so Aragorn would not have been born yet, not likely he Father. Also Legolas was sent by his Father to tell Gandalf that Golem had escaped.

I'd pick TLOTR over the Hobbit any day. However, that doesn't mean i hate The Hobbit Trilogy, in-fact i loved it and enjoyed it quite so much. My favorite Characters are Mithrandir, Saruman, Bilbo, Legolas, Thranduil and Boromir. Can't really pick one part out of either of the trilogies, quite a difficult decision to make.

If you love the Hobbit/The LOTR you should definitely watch the Game of Thrones, it has me hooked for the past couple of weeks. As a matter of fact i just finished the 3rd season only a few minutes ago. It's filling the hole of LOTR's quite well so far.

I was gonna try Game of Thrones but my brother watched it first, he said that all that was ever on the screen where tits, (sorry for being common), and from pictures and things I have read, that seems to be true and I can't stand shows like that. So it put me off.

Soft porn. Do give it a go unless you really mind the nudity and sexual stuff.

Yeah I am, I'm a huge fan actually but I enjoy LOTR more. My favorite character is Gandalf in the hobbit and in LOTR. But like all the other characters too.

Except that guy that was helping Sarumon control Theoden's mind in two towers.

Yea, unfortunately that would get on my nerves, The Hobbit and LOTR had real class, something lacking in almost everything nowadays. I'm not saying its a bad show, just that its not for me, everything is just smut, smut, smut nowadays, shame. Downton abby is the same, Eastenders in corsets

The LOTR trilogy for me is by far better than the Hobbit, and my fave character is Aragorn followed by the the btreaker of laws of physics Legolas, and Sam is cool too.

Thranduil, I would throw myself from a Rivendale bridge just to have him sit next to my coffin :T_T:

Aragorn was 87 years old in The Two Towers. Or was it 89 .. anyway he is older as he looks
