The translation specifically says that you disintegrate as soon as the body is pierced, meaning if it just hits you & gets deflected somehow then it won't have an effect.

Ash bone needs to pierce the target but since ash bones ripped through kakashi's suanoo easily. Wouldn't that mean kaguya's bones/skeleton is more durable?
